Dominant Alpha novel Chapter 20

I stood in front of the grand, golden colored, floor length mirror wearing a rich silver color dress with matching heels. My makeup was done elegantly by a stylist. I could not believe it was me who was standing in front of the mirror.

It was time to enter the party. My welcome party, as Christian had said apparently. It had started already and Christian had gone down to attend it. I could hear light muttering voices and gentle music that were coming from my window.

I was scared shitless. I had never even been out of my town & here I was at some unknown territory of completely different species. The only thing that I knew for sure was that I had no chance in hell of escaping this place on my own. The only plan that was going through my head was to earn Christian's trust so that he would give me enough freedom to contact my parents. And the unknown strange feeling that I was feeling for him was helpful in the task.

I was very anxious and nervous. It was my first day here and I had to face a whole grand pack as a Luna, which, as far as I could see, seemed to be a very big responsibility. I had freaked out when I had seen them gathered in the hall. And now just thinking about the party, walking down there alone was giving me the chills down my spine.

My thoughts kept going to my parents. My head was bursting with worry and panic. I did not know if I would ever be able to see them again or not. I did not even know if they remembered me anymore or not. If they knew that I existed in their life or not. The thought of not seeing them ever again just snatched the life out of me.

Gosh!!! How am I going to cope up with all this? Just as I slowly started getting drowned in those thoughts while staring at my reflection in the mirror, an omega came to inform me that I was invited downstairs.

Shit! Time for the action!

I nodded in acceptance to her words to let her know that I had heard her, checked myself one last time in the mirror, and walked out of the room and down the stairs. The party was being held in the garden. A stage was set up there. I could hear the melodious music flowing all the way to the stairs.

I had thought that Christian would be downstairs to lead me outside. This territory, colony, pack, people, everyone, everything was a new world to me. I had thought that since he had forcefully dragged, or should I say- kidnapped me to bring here, he would be here to at least introduce me to my completely strange surroundings and people. But my hopes died when I could not find anyone near the stairs except a few omegas who were collecting plates and filling up glasses of drinks.

Sighing in disappointment I walked out of the hall and crossed the threshold to go outside to the garden. It was grand. Every person at the party was dazzled with expensive things, be it their clothes, or the watches on their wrists.

The garden was full of people. They seemed to be enjoying themselves as all of them were mingled quite well with each other. I looked here and there in search of Christian. I found him standing a few feet away, standing with a few people and talking to them.
