I went to sleep after that meeting silently instead of putting up a fight with Christian. It took some time, but I was perhaps too exhausted from all the emotional issues and tears that I had to go through so eventually, I did fall asleep without realizing when. I was not aware if Christian had come back to the room or not, but when I woke up after a few hours at night, the bed beside me was empty.

After getting freshen up in the washroom, I walked down the hall. Everything was loud, and everyone was chattering with each other. I took a deep breath as for some reason, seeing everyone being normal did not make me feel awkward for coming down here after all the drama from yesterday. My stomach growled in a low voice, making me realize how much hungry I was. The hunger was now killing me.

I walked down the hall and took a seat at the dinner table. The amazing aroma of delicious food hit my nose immediately, making me lick my lips in craving before I started to fill up my plate with a little bit of everything. Just as I started to put a spoonful of soup in my mouth, the hall went silent.

I closed my eyes in annoyance.

Not. Right. Now!

I felt the chair beside me get pulled, and then someone settled in the seat. I knew who this 'someone' was already so I ignored the wavering tension in the hall and continued my dinner like nothing bad had happened in this whole century.

The loud chattering voices started once again. I felt Christian's hand come into my lap to hold my hand, but I quickly pulled my hand and placed it on the table to eat dinner from both hands. I heard an audibly loud sigh from beside me. The hand stayed in my lap.

After finishing my dinner, I stood up and went into the kitchen to put down the plates in the sink. No one was there. I grabbed a Dairy Milk from the freezer and tried to exit the kitchen.

As soon as I turned around and started to leave the kitchen, Christian came striding inside the kitchen, blocking my path. I tried to sidestep him to clearly avoid him, but he grabbed my hand in a gentle grip and pulled me close to his chest in a hug. I did not argue nor squirm. I just watched and endured his actions without a word.

"Look... I did not..." he started.

"It is okay." I stopped him in the middle and replied in a blank voice. I really, really did not want to talk to him at that moment. He had ruined everything for me. Each moment that he had spent to build up the trust for himself in my heart. Now, I could barely feel anything except anger upon remembering the words he had said to me in the afternoon.

"What?" he asked, perplexed.

"I said it is okay. You do not need to say even one word. I don't want to hear anything. Now, will you please excuse me?"
