Everyone let out a big sigh of relief. At the same time, nobody noticed Maddie sitting on the bench, also exhaling deeply and dialing a number on her phone.

Connor was on edge. The idea of natural childbirth comes with its own set of risks, and he couldn't stop double-checking with the nurse. Before the nurse could even answer, Chloe was already being wheeled out of the delivery room. She was covered in sweat but seemed to be in pretty good spirits.

The nurse chimed in, “Okay, who’s handling the paperwork, and who's taking the baby for their first bath?”

Connor jumped in, “I’ll stay with Chloe.”

Winston and Cassie stepped up to take the baby. “We’ve got the little one covered,” they assured.

Chloe, however, insisted, “I want to see the baby first.”

She had her reasons. There was a past incident where she and Lisa were switched at the hospital, and even though she knew that wouldn’t happen again, she needed to see her baby right away. Just one look, and she’d remember her child’s face forever.

The nurse brought the baby over, giving Chloe a moment to take it all in. She turned slightly, her eyes landing on the sleeping infant. The baby was soft and fair, like a little marshmallow, with a head of damp, dark hair that looked incredibly soft. Although the eyes were closed, the tiny rosy lips were gently moving.

The nurse said softly, “The baby needs a bath first, then it’s feeding time.”

With the baby taken for a bath, Chloe was wheeled to her room in the maternity ward.

Connor held Chloe’s hand, asking, “How are you feeling, Chloe? Anything bothering you? Headache?”

Chloe flashed a tired smile, “Just worn out, that’s all. Don’t worry about me. Go check on our little one.”

Connor gave her hand a squeeze, “I’m staying with you. You’ve been incredible, my love.”

Then he planted a tender kiss on her forehead. Chloe was indeed exhausted, the delivery had taken everything out of her, but thankfully, it all went off without a hitch. She soon drifted off to sleep.

Chloe looked down at the baby in her arms, her heart swelling with warmth. The others gathered around, admiring the newborn.

Isaac commented, “Our little Tim is a handsome one, spitting image of his uncle.”

Winston rolled his eyes, “Isaac, give it a rest.”

Chloe asked, “Tim? Is that the name you went with?”

Isaac replied, “You didn’t know? Connor picked it—Tim. It’s adorably cheesy.”

He then turned to Taylor and joked, “When we have a daughter, let’s call her Juliet. How about that?”
