Annie's P.O.V.
I could hear Evan's heart. It was practically racing and so was mine. He held me tightly against him and I felt warm and safe. I wanted to stay like this forever.
"Evan," I said after a while.
"Yes?" he asked.
"I can't breathe. You are holding me too tightly," I whispered.
"Oh sorry," he loosened his arms a little but didn't let go. "I am sorry I can't do one of those fancy braids of yours. I am a dude, brushing your hair is as far as I will go," he said.
I giggled. I wasn't even expecting him to do that much. He really was determined to take care of me. I suddenly felt something under me. Something hard.
My eyes turned wide as I realized what it was. I was literally sitting on his lap so it was...
I jolted back to reality and jumped off his lap.
"What's the matter?" he sounded concerned.
"Uh...um...you have s...something..." I stammered. I didn't know how to say it. Oh gosh, don't make me say it! I thought.
"I have something? What do I have?" Evan sounded confused.
"I felt something hard!" the words just escaped my mouth. Oh god, why aren't I a mute too?
Evan snickered then coughed to try and cover it up. "Oh, it's nothing little hamster. Just a natural bodily reaction. It's normal, don't worry about it," he leaned over and said it in my ear.
"No it's not, you pervert!" I squealed.
"Okay, you are right. You sitting on my lap and being all pressed against me turned me on. So it's your fault," he said and trailed his fingers on my back.
"Y...you put me there!" I protested.
"You didn't seem like you hated it," he said quietly.
That's because I didn't hate it. Since when did I become so shameless? Ugh...so embarrassing!
"Don't be embarrassed," he whispered as if hearing my thoughts. "But I will be more careful if it bothers you," he promised.
I don't want that either. Why am I like this?
"It doesn't bother me," I said quietly. "I don't know why I am freaking out."
"You are scared, I get that. I will never hurt you. I meant it when I said I love you and I want you to be mine," he said. His voice was thick with emotions.
