Mariela said firmly, “It’s okay, Mr. Avery. You can pay after getting compensation. I’ll do a full–risk representation for you,“ 

Andrew seemed confused.“What’s full–risk representation? 

Mariela explained, “It means if we lose, you pay nothing.” 

Hearing this, Andrew’s eyes lit up.“Really? Is that possible?” 

“Of course,” Mariela said seriously. 

Andrew agreed, “Then…Okay.” 

“Good, Mariela nodded. “Now I need specific details about the case.” 

Gia said, “Ms. Logan, you two talk first, I’ll take Jessie back to the ward.” 

After Mariela understood the situation, Andrew pulled out his phone. 

“Ms. Logan, these are the basic facts. Feel free to ask anything else. Maybe we should add each other on WhatsApp for easier communication.” 

“Okay,” Mariela took out her phone and opened WhatsApp. 

She was a lawyer, so she needed to communicate frequently with the clients. 

After exchanging contact information, Andrew opened a food delivery app. 

His right hand had been amputated and was wrapped in white bandages at the wrist. 

Andrew tried to swipe the phone screen with his left hand, choosing food delivery. 

Mariela glanced at it.“Let me help you.” 

Andrew gave an awkward smile, “Then I’ll have to trouble you, Ms. Logan.” 

Mariela picked up Andrew’s phone and froze when she saw the screen. 

The screen displayed a variety of food delivery choices, all marked as the cheapest options available. 

Mariela glanced at the interface. 

She noted that the food delivery options on this app were surprisingly affordable. 

She realized she had never known there were meals this cheap. 

Mariela’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. She couldn’t help but think that such cheap meals couldn’t possibly cover the cost of the ingredients. 

It wasn’t hard to imagine what kind of ingredients were used in those meals. 

Seeing Mariela frowning and hesitating, Andrew looked puzzled. “What’s wrong, Ms. Logan? Just pick the cheapest option.” 

Mariela handed the phone back.“I remember seeing some restaurants downstairs. They’re just as cheap as these deliveries. How about I buy one for you? It’s faster than waiting for delivery.” 

“Ah? Wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?” 

Mariela shook her head.“It’s no trouble at all. It’s just downstairs. Wait a moment, I’ll be right back.” 

Mariela left the hospital and entered a roadside restaurant. 

She took out her phone and sent a message to Gia. 

“Has Jessie eaten lunch yet?”
