Gia replied quickly. 

“Probably not. She came to see me at nine this morning, and we hadn’t eaten yet.” 

“Okay.” 

She ordered meals for three people, all light and suitable for patients. 

Suddenly thinking of something, she made a phone call to request two caregivers. 

Carrying the meals back to the hospital, the two caregivers she had asked for had already arrived. 

One caregiver was male, and the other was female.

Mariela handed a meal to the male caregiver.“This is for Andrew Avery in Room 503, Bed 4, on the 5th floor of the inpatient department. Please make sure he gets it and take good care of him.” 

The male caregiver took the meal and said, “Okay.” 

Mariela handed two meals to the female caregiver.“These are for the patient, Jessie Avery, and her friend, in Room 602, Bed 3, on the 6th 

floor.” 

After this, Mariela paid Andrew and Jessie’s hospital fees at the payment window.

Andrew gave her a transfer.

Mariela felt a pang of sympathy and replied, “Okay.” 

She returned the money to Andrew. 

The cold wind blew through her hair. 

She stood by the hospital flower bed, feeling emotional for a long time. 

Gia stood behind her, sobbing uncontrollably.“Ms. Logan, the doctor said they still haven’t found a bone marrow match. If they can’t find one soon, Jessie doesn’t have much time left. Why does her life have to be so hard? She’s kind, lovely, and only eleven years old. Why is fate so cruel to her?” 

Gia cried uncontrollably. 

Mariela’s eyes were also filled with tears.
