The Stark’s villa was adjacent to the Logan’s villa, and Marie would always pass by the Stark’s villa on her way home. 

Marie tightened her grip on the steering wheel, feeling a wave of bitterness in her heart. 

According to the customs in New York, the grand meal was held in the evening. 

But the Logan family’s lunch was also plentiful. 

In addition to several home–cooked dishes that Marie loved, imported seafood such as Australian lobster, king crab, and grouper were also served. 

Marie sent Angelica a gift.“Angel, Happy New Year. This is the gift I specially chose for you.”

Marie was moved to tears.“Dad, when did you become so sentimental?” 

Haleigh chuckled and agreed, “Marie, your dad is right.” 

They had a delightful meal. 

After dinner, Marie took Angelica for a walk in their garden and chatted. As she looked up, she saw a woman standing in the yard of the neighboring villa. 

It was Shayla. 

Marie stood frozen in place. 

Angelica saw Marie suddenly stop and look up, blinking her bright, shiny eyes in confusion, asking, “Marie, what’s wrong?” 

Marie was stiff all over, lips pursed as she stared at Shayla in the yard of the Stark’s villa. 

Shayla also saw Marie, waved at her, and smiled brightly.
