Dressed in a sharp suit, his long eyes behind gold–rimmed glasses sparkled with 

amusement.“Since when does Mr. Stark do grunt work like an assistant?” 

He turned to Mariela, teasing. “Ms. Logan, since when is our firm so impressive that we can hire the CEO of the Stark Group to do odd jobs?” 

Mariela was not in the mood for jokes now. 

Her expression darkened, and she replied irritably, “Some people just have too much free time.” Noticing her bad mood, Bryce paused and the smile in his eyes faded away. He asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Is there something bothering you?” 

Before Mariela could respond, Lennon cut in, “She’s busy, and you’re interrupting her. Of course, she’s upset.” 

Mariela said nothing. 

Bryce’s expression froze. “Then I’ll leave.” 

“Go ahead.” Lennon waved him off, clearly dismissing him. 

“Can you stop causing trouble?” Mariela said, glaring at Lennon. 

Lennon shut up and quietly shredded the papers. 

Bryce looked at Mariela and then looked at Lennon. 

Lennon smiled at him. 

Then Bryce noticed a streak of red on Lennon’s lips, trailing down toward his chin. 

Bryce’s eyes 

darkened. 

His gaze shifted upwards to meet Lennon’s eyes, and in those eyes, there was a hint of provocation and arrogance. 

Bryce lowered his eyes, his tone now devoid of humor.“I’ll let you get back to work, Ms. Logan.” After saying that, Bryce turned around and left. 

Lennon’s lips curled into a smile as he continued shredding papers. 

Mariela was a little puzzled. She couldn’t understand what kind of look Bryce just gave her. 

She turned her head and looked at Lennon with suspicion. 

The man lowered his head, humming a little tune while shredding papers, every radiating his good mood.
