On Saturday, Mariela came home and had a conversation with Angelica’s doctor. 

The doctor suggested that having a friend to play with Angelica could really help with her therapy. 

Mariela walked over to Angelica and softened her voice, saying, “Angel, how would you like to meet a new friend to play with?” 

Angelica pursed her lips and whispered, “Who is it?” 

“Her name is Annika Herman. She’s a little girl about your age, and she’s really cute,” Mariela said. 

“Do you like her?” 

“Of course,” Mariela said with a smile.“Annika is a good kid, just like you. I like Annika, and I like 

you too.” 

Angelica smiled shyly,“If so, I want to be friends with Annika. I’d like to meet her.” 

Mariela affectionately patted Angelica’s head.“You’re such a good girl.” 

Back in her room, Mariela texted Bryce, “Angel agreed. She’s not comfortable going out right now. When would be a good time for Annika to come over and play?” 

Bryce replied, “How about this afternoon?” 

Mariela replied, “Sure, what does Annika like to eat? I’ll go buy some snacks and fruit.” 

Bryce sent over a list of Annika’s favorite treats.“I’ll check with my aunt about the exact time and let you know.” 

“Okay.” 

Around 3:30 PM, Bryce arrived at the Logan’s residence with Annika. 

He held Annika’s hand as they walked in, saying, “Ms. Logan, my aunt had something come up, so she asked me to bring Annika over.”
