What?

My jaw slacked as that host mistook us as a family of father, mother and two lovely kids, bringing an amused smile to Henry's face. I was about to rectify him when two panicked voices screamed from some distance.

"They aren't a couple!"

I spun on my heels as that sharp outburst sent a jolt of electricity throughout my body, rendering me speechless. I stood there frozen, as if my body had forgotten to move after seeing two familiar faces in the crowd, proving me absolutely right about my dubiety.

These two troublemakers were none other than Leo and Bright, they both emerged from the crowd, rushing towards us. They were gasping for air while explaining,

"They aren't married!

Henry is Laura's brother! They are siblings!"

Leo, a runaway from rehab, immediately flexed his relationship with his kids.

"Jane and Zoe are my kids. Laura is their mother. We were husband and wife before."

So embarrassing!

Those impatient men didn't let anyone speak and broadcasted our family situation. Bright introduced himself right after Leo.

"I am Laura's fiancé. We are going to marry soon."

Really?

A ride's host?

It was simply out of my mind that why a mere outsider got the news of our marriage first. I bit my tongue to halt a series of curse words and lash out furiously.

They both broke into a fight in the morning, striving their best to crush Jane and Zoe's hopes, and still, they had the guts to chase us like creepy dudes together.

What were they even trying to implore?

Seeing them both at this amusement park didn't sit well with my petty nature, I wasn't in the mood to let it slip with ease.

As arguing with Leo was useless due to his provoking nature, I addressed Bright, who lied to us a few hours ago.

"I didn't know that clients meet their business partners in children's parks, Bright.

Thanks for enlightening me. It will be beneficial for my career."

My ablaze glare said more than my words as I held my kids' hands, turning towards the rides.

"Suit yourself!

We are going to enjoy the Ferris wheel."

Although Bright and Leo came out of hiding and followed us like lost puppies, I didn't pay any heed to them. I couldn't allow them to destroy my little angels' happiness only because of their silly differences.

However, what surprised me was their new brotherhood as they appeared friendly, wearing matching t-shirts and jeans. One would be unable to tell from their Oscar winning acting that they were arch enemies.

They interacted with Jane and Zoe mostly, buying them beautiful gifts for their win. Bright brought a beautiful unicorn ice hockey gear for Jane, just like Christmas.

"Laura told me that your old t-shirt was torn in an accident. So, here is the new one for my princess."

"Yes! No ugly arguments!" Leo instantly added to his new brother's statement, they looked like bosom buddies, backing each other up.

"I have shown my medicines and weekly sessions' calendar to Bright. The doctors have vouched for my seriousness for the treatment.

I am not slacking off, Laura."

Although it was challenging to believe that they had reconciled, I played along with my children. Bright took my silence as their success as he said,

"I now understand Leo's feelings for his kids, Laura. He wasn't wrong to visit Jane at her school."

WHAT?!

My rage skyrocketed.

Leo had stalked Jane at school.

In a goddamn penguin costume.

And now Bright was siding with him?!

Oh, hell no.

These two were definitely up to something.

And I was going to find out what.
