Leo sounded flustered as if he had also struggled to use Zoe’s smartwatch.

Before I could say anything, Jane took charge, putting on her best angry voice.

“Why are you answering Zoe’s phone?”

I couldn’t help but laugh at her fake anger, she looked so cute while huffing. Hearing Jane’s voice, Leo paused for a moment, then he explained softly.

“Zoe is busy putting his puppy to sleep. He will be free in ten minutes.

You guys ….”

Jane didn’t let him finish, cutting him off mid-sentence.

“We will call after ten minutes.”

She immediately hung up and then high-fived me.

The thought of Leo getting upset was so funny that I broke into a fit of laughter.

Her consideration melted my heart into a puddle, making me soar high in the sky. Giving birth to such a sensitive daughter was indeed the best part of my life.

Zoe called after ten minutes, and they talked about their practice. It excited my Jane for the next morning in the rink. She was so full of energy that it took me a while to put her to sleep.

Any mother with young kids could relate to my exhaustion as I was tired after Jane’s bedtime. So, I poured myself a glass of wine and played a soft symphony to relax.

“You have been back for days and yet, you haven’t come to see me in person?

The irony was Melody and Leo’s permanent place in their lives and business.
