The woman put away the thing in her hand and sat down to the side to begin studying Lindsey’s blood sample.
She did not answer Lindsey's question, so Lindsey looked around herself. The room had windows and the sky outside was bright, but Lindsey stared at a cloud for a while and found that it was moving.
The white chandelier overhead also rocked about.
They were on a boat!
A natural repulsive reflex immediately surged, but before Lindsey reacted, the doctor said nonchalantly, "We’re docking soon, so keep it in until you get offboard. No matter what you’re feeling, just bear with it!"
As soon as she said that, Lindsey vomited.
Lindsey had not eaten anything, so she only puked out a bit of bile, but even so, the doctor looked at her with disgust.
She looked at the doctor apologetically. Her expression clearly conveyed a message, “Sorry, I couldn't hold it in.”
The doctor only felt that Lindsey's eyes were provoking her.
She put down the things in her hand, turned around, and left, probably looking for someone to come in and clean up. When she got to the door, she turned back and warned Lindsey, "Don't move if you don't want to die."
‘This woman seemed to have an inexplicable hostility towards me,’ Lindsey thought.
The last thing Lindsey remembered was Shaun getting beaten up. Her chest suddenly ached because she had dragged Shaun down with her.
There was also Sieben. She wondered if Sieben managed to escape. Thinking about these two, Lindsey was a little breathless.
She felt that she was a troublemaker. She always dragged down the people around her and none of them ended up well.
"Baby..." Lindsey whispered to the baby in her womb. "Do you think Mommy’s always hurting others?"
No one could answer her.
When the doctor walked out of the cabin, she bumped into Allie Wilford. "Young Lady."
"Anna, how is she?" Allie was holding a glass of red wine in her hand and gently swirled it.
The doctor looked respectful as she said, "She just woke up and made a mess."
"Hmm." Allie looked at the distant horizon and gently took a sip of red wine. "Let her sleep a little longer. When my brother asks later, you know what to say, right?"
"Don't worry, Young Lady."
Allie nodded with satisfaction. She had an arrogant demeanor as she turned around and walked towards the tanning chairs on the deck. From the back, she looked like a proud and beautiful princess.
They had been on the yacht for more than ten hours and would dock in the afternoon. Then, they would wait until nightfall to take the Wilfords’ private jet back to Germany.
Anna stood in place and watched Allie's back for a while longer before turning around and calling for someone to clean up. She had to save Lindsey's life, but she wanted to make her less comfortable.
The sun gradually disappeared on the horizon. Zayn went back to the Guggenheim mansion before sunset. Mrs. Wendey’s eyes lit up when she saw that Zayn was back and rushed forward. "Young Master, you're back!"
After she said that, she glanced at his back and asked. “Where’s Young Madam?”
Before Mrs. Wendy could continue, she saw the look on Zayn's face and knew the answer. With red eyes, Mrs. Wendy turned around and walked towards the kitchen. "You must be hungry. What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you."
The Guggenheim mansion's kitchen had not been busy for several days since Lindsey disappeared.
"Why didn't you save me?" Lindsey's eyes were filled with tears and she shouted at him in despair.
Zayn moved his lips. "I..."
He simply could not complete his sentence. Zayn quickly walked a few steps forward and tried to pull the woman in front of him into his arms.
When he took a step forward, Lindsey took a step back. She just kept repeating the question, "Why didn't you save me?"
Zayn could not speak. Lindsey retreated even further and suddenly stopped. She then pointed to her belly with a bitter and cruel smile. "Zayn, look...our child is gone. It's all because of you!"
He violently sat up from the bed. His eyes were filled with fear and they were bloodshot. Cold sweat kept rolling down his forehead and his arms and legs curled up unconsciously.
His heart was beating too fast and his breathing was rapid, all of which showed his unsettled mood and the agony he was feeling at this time.
Mrs. Wendy brought out the dishes to the table, just in time to see Zayn coming downstairs. "Young Master, why don’t you sleep a little longer? Never mind, you’re just in time for dinner. Come and eat."
The corners of Mrs. Wendy's wrinkled eyes were a little red. She was probably crying secretly in the kitchen earlier.
Zayn wanted to leave straight away, but he paused for a moment and finally went in the direction of the dining room.
"I won't be back for a while, so please take care of the house," Zayn said before he sat down at the table.
He did not have much appetite, but he still finished a portion of spaghetti before leaving. Then, he went to the hospital with Quentin.
Sieben and Shaun were under observation because they were not in a very stable condition. Callum had gone home, leaving only Yvette and Soren there.
