Zayn lightly grunted and got down from the car.

The view here was very open and Zayn’s sense of danger was always keen. He looked around and did not get a feeling of danger.

The impulse in his heart suddenly faded.

He walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.

His bodyguards were in the car and did not come down. Zayn looked around and soon, a teenage boy came over. When the boy saw an unfamiliar face, he looked alert and asked Zayn for his identity.

Zayn looked at him for a long time and suddenly shook his head. He then turned around and went back to the car.

"President..." Zion did not know what Zayn meant to do by going down alone to ring the doorbell, just to come back empty-handed.

"It’s not it. Drive."

No one knew how Zayn came to this conclusion. The car quickly left. The teenager in the courtyard looked at the car disappearing in the distance and shook his head, then went back inside.

If Lindsey was here and saw this small manor, she would have been amazed because it was so similar to the one she lived in.

Besides the absence of the other block and some minor differences, anyone unfamiliar with the place would think that it was the same place.

Liam Wilford’s ways were not particularly complex, but he had set this place up as a diversion.

Zayn sometimes could not help but wonder if Lindsey had been sent to another country, but a voice in his heart told him that she was still here, so he should try again. Perhaps then, he would find her eventually.

Only he knew how much this tormented him.

However, these days were not completely unproductive.

"The medical team that Liam Wilford hired either had no family or their family members were overseas. We’ve checked all those addresses overseas and they’re all fake."

Zayn wanted to laugh at Liam’s meticulousness. Liam had already thought of every loophole that could be exploited and made preparations in advance.

He slowly exhaled and said, "Put pressure on Allie Wilford to make sure she finds a way to get Lindsey’s whereabouts."

That woman’s last bit of value was only this much.

The morning air in the countryside was fresh. Lindsey stood upstairs. This was the only place she could see outside.

Sophie said that she was coming to visit them today. Sure enough, by 10:00 am, she knocked on the front door with a maid accompanying her.

Without trying, Lindsey knew that her room door must have been locked from the outside.

Looking at the thing in her hand, Lindsey’s eyes turned cold. Liam did not want her and Sophie to meet, but she was adamant to let Sophie find out about her existence.

Lindsey’s belly was getting bigger and the more she could feel the movements of this life inside her womb, the more she felt the desire to live.

She had to seize every opportunity.

Sophie was a well-mannered lady and did not stay long for her first visit. Soon, she took the initiative to leave.

"Thanks for your hospitality. Can I come over again next time?" The girl with the gentle and kind eyes made a request that no one could refuse.

Sophie received an affirmative answer and left with satisfaction.

"Now..." Lindsey murmured to herself. Sophie appeared in her line of sight and Lindsey quickly threw the object in her hand through the gap in the window’s fence, which landed slightly askew in front of Sophie.

Lindsey actually intended to throw it at Sophie.

Since it came in too fast, it even crushed a few blooming roses. Sophie turned around and her eyes lit up, instantly forgetting about Lindsey.

"Liam!" Her voice was full of surprise.

Liam got down from the car, casually took his gloves off, and took Sophie into his arms. He gently kissed the top of her head and said, "You look happy."

"Yeah." Sophie held his hand tightly. "Oh, by the way, this is our new neighbor. She’s Mrs. Jacobson. You must know her already."

After she said that, Sophie pointed to Lindsey, who stopped smiling since Liam got out of the car. "She seems to be Mrs. Jacobson’s daughter-in-law. Have you seen her before? I think she's American."

Sophie’s voice sounded a little disbelief. Liam looked in the direction Sophie was pointing, but his tender gaze instantly turned into an implicit threat when he looked at Lindsey.

Lindsey glared at Liam and turned away from the window.

"Hey, why did she leave?" Sophie completely missed the dark exchange between these two people and thought she had done something wrong.

Liam led her towards the front and said as they walked, "It's fine. Mrs. Jacobson’s daughter-in-law has some mental illness. Stay away from her and don't talk to her, okay?"

"Oh." Sophie nodded. She clearly felt nothing unusual about Lindsey although they only spoke a few words.

Liam stayed with Sophie until she fell asleep at noon. He gently took his arm away and covered the quilt over Sophie before he went to the back building.

Mrs. Jacobson was the old lady that took care of Lindsey. She had obviously received orders beforehand and welcomed Liam inside.

Lindsey sat downstairs and looked at Liam who was walking in and revealed a very contemptuous smile. "Why so nervous?"

"Lindsey Juhl!" Liam stepped forward and grabbed Lindsey by the collar. "Stay away from Sophie!"

"Then you shouldn't have sent her here." Lindsey also did not struggle and just looked at Liam blankly.
