It was already after work hours. Not many people were waiting, and soon, it was Lindsey and Shaun Juhl’s turn.

Zayn Guggenheim was brutal earlier so Shaun’s face and body suffered some bruises. When the doctor told Shaun to take off his clothes, Lindsey turned her head away with some embarrassment and saw Zayn standing there.

She did not want to deal with Zayn, so she turned around to leave, but he pulled her back.

"Where are you going?"

Lindsey glared at him as she shouted, "Let go of me!"

Shaun heard the commotion and immediately stood up from the chair, but just as he was about to move, a large group of people suddenly came from outside, separating him from Lindsey.

Zayn pulled Lindsey into his arms despite Shaun's objections. Zayn suddenly lowered his head, bit his lips, then licked his lips, and said, "Mr. Juhl, it’s not your place to care about my wife!"

"Zayn Guggenheim! Let go of Lindsey!"

Zayn did not listen to him and confined the constantly struggling Lindsey in his arms, taking her away from Shaun's sight.

Shaun was going crazy, but those people tightly surrounded him.

The doctor had never seen such a big commotion and thought the group of people were gangsters.

"What do you want? This is a hospital!"

The doctor was just about to call the police, but someone grabbed his phone. They only let go of Shaun after Lindsey got into Zayn's car.

When Lindsey and Zayn left the hospital, they ran into Jenny Lenig, who was limping around looking for Zayn, but Zayn just walked past her without so much as a glance.

"Zayn! Zayn, what are you doing?"

Jenny shouted from behind, but Zayn did not seem to have heard her.

"Now you know that I’m your wife? Zayn, can’t we just stop meddling in each other’s lives?"

Lindsey felt a little breathless, but she still managed to complete her sentence.

Zayn threw Lindsey into the car and sat down. He loosened his tie and said, “Stop meddling? Lindsey Juhl, you dare to betray me, so you must pay the price!"

Lindsey did not want to deal with him. She already felt uncomfortable after being agitated by him shortly after she regained consciousness earlier, so she ignored him and fell asleep.

After waiting a long time without a response, Zayn glanced at Lindsey and found that she had already fallen asleep lopsided on the car seat.

Lindsey’s face was pale and looked so fragile as if she could break at any moment. Zayn considered that she was sick and felt strangely soft-hearted. He wanted to reach out and touch her cheek, but after getting close, he heard the words that she muttered.

"Big Brother...Guggenheim, get lost..."

His little bit of warmth towards her instantly disappeared without a trace. Zayn was expressionless as he instructed, "Drive faster!"

After they arrived at the Guggenheim mansion, he threw Lindsey on the bed, but she still did not wake up. Zayn wanted to shake her awake, but when he touched her, her body was burning up.

Zayn then yelled at the maid who was at the door, "Get the doctor to come over! Hurry!"

Grandpa Guggenheim came out from the study and asked his grandson, "What are you shouting for? You're making so much noise as soon as you come back."

When the old man walked to the door, he saw that Lindsey was lying on the bed.

"Linds, do you want to get a divorce with Zayn Guggenheim?"

Lindsey froze. Divorce. How could she not want to? She had long been fed up with such a meaningless marriage.

She once thought she could be happy by marrying someone she liked, only to find out that this marriage was nothing but wishful thinking and lies.

Two years of marriage! Lindsey would rather that she was never close to Zayn so that they would not end up in their current state.

Her heart was heavy because of this question, but Lindsey did not want Shaun to worry, so she smiled and said, “I don’t have the final say for a divorce. Brother, are you afraid that Zayn will mistreat me? Don’t worry. He usually treats me well. Even if he’s angry, he won’t do anything to me.”

As Lindsey said this, her tears unconsciously streamed down her cheeks.

Shaun knew that Lindsey was only afraid that he would worry about her. A vague thought in his heart became clearer and he became more determined because of this.

Lindsey did not know what Shaun was thinking at the moment. She spent the rest of the day at home, chatting and drinking tea with the old man, and felt that the knots in her heart gradually started to unravel.

The next morning, Lindsey was called to a morning meeting just after she sat down at her desk. There was a result on the previous discussion of choosing a capable person to be Shaun's assistant, who would also be personally trained by him.

The popular Lindsey was brushed off and replaced by the mediocre-performing Fenly. Everyone could not believe the news, and among them, Lydia had the biggest reaction.

Shaun had taken half a day off that day, so the person who hosted the meeting was the company’s CEO. It was clear that the CEO wanted to take advantage of Shaun’s absence to jump the gun. Lydia was about to get up to speak for Lindsey, but before her butt left her seat, she was pushed back.

Lydia turned around and saw Lindsey, who shook her head gently. Lindsey did not want this position anyway.

When the meeting was over and everything was settled, Fenly was pleased with herself. On the other hand, Lydia immediately grabbed Lindsey and took her to her office.
