As such, Lindsey Juhl missed Zayn's series of movements.

The man violently pushed open the car door and with one big step, he was in front of her. He carried her on his shoulders and threw her into the car.

Lindsey shouted, "Zayn Guggenheim! Help, somebody! Help me!"

In the next second, the car door was slammed shut, trapping her voice in the car. Even if some pedestrians saw her being taken, the sports car already disappeared before they could even react.

"Zayn Guggenheim! Do you not feel happy if you don’t torture me for a single day?"

Lindsey’s small fist slammed into the back of Zayn’s car seat, but Zayn was unfazed and did not move.

She spoke so fast that it was surprising Zayn understood what she said. He just replied without an expression, “Nope.”

Lindsey choked and wanted to scratch his face, but when she saw his handsome and flawless face, she could not bear to do it and just sat back while cursing him under her breath.

"What the hell are you muttering?"

"None of your business!"

The two of them were like firecrackers as their interaction was always turbulent and explosive.

Strangely enough, Zayn's gloominess gradually faded away.

The maids in the Guggenheim mansion had set up the dining table long ago. The old man happily sat in his seat when he saw Zayn and Lindsey walking in together. He had ignored both of their glum expressions.

The old man finally smiled at Zayn seeing that he did not bring Jenny Lenig back today.

When Lindsey saw the old man, it suddenly dawned on her why Zayn was pestering her. He must have been afraid that the old man would nag him.

Poor Ms. Lenig.

"Grandpa, I'm back."

"Good, good. Come and eat! It’s all your favorites today."

The old man was nice towards Lindsey, then turned to look at Zayn and said with a serious face, "Brat, come over now."

No matter how old Zayn was, he would forever be a brat to Grandpa Guggenheim.

Lindsey could not hold back her smile. The corners of her mouth just curled up when Zayn glared at her fiercely.

She ignored him and smiled as she said, "Grandpa, I bought you a present."

Just then, the doorbell rang and the maid went to open the door to bring in the walking cane Lindsey bought earlier.

"Hahahahaha nice. Thanks, I really like it!"

Grandpa Guggenheim was elated. He complimented an ordinary walking stick as if it was a rare treasure. Zayn, who was sitting on the side, looked at the smiling pair and clutched his fork tightly as he said bitterly, "Are we still eating or not?"

The old man nonchalantly refuted, "Eat by yourself! What do you care about us?"

He then turned to continue his conversation with Lindsey. Lindsey could not help but laugh as seeing Zayn defeated made her feel good.

Since the old man was home, Lindsey would have to stay in the same room with Zayn that night.

Lindsey looked at the man who was following her and negotiated, "You sleep on the floor and I'll sleep on the bed."

He glanced at her, then passed by her to go to the bathroom as he replied, "Dream on."

Lindsey gritted her teeth and said, "Then I'll sleep on the floor and you can sleep on the bed."

She was still not fully recovered and was still traumatized by Zayn's behavior last time. It was not something which she could forget overnight.

The warmth of her breath shrouded Zayn's chest and they looked too intimate, so Lindsey could not stand it and turned around.

"It's too stuffy. I need some air."

Lindsey wanted to cover up and fortunately, Zayn did not find any fault with her.

Both their bodies were tightly intertwined and Zayn did not let go of his hands on her waist. Surprisingly, they fit each other extremely well.

The person behind her did not move and was probably asleep, so Lindsey breathed lightly. It was a familiar bed, but she could not sleep until dawn.

Early in the morning, Lydia gathered everyone in the department.

She stood in front and scanned the crowd as she said, "While everyone is just getting ready to start the day, I have an announcement to make."

Several people who were close to Fenly immediately gave her a look, which made Fenly smile with joy. Although the decision was finalized in the meeting that day, it was only an internal announcement. After all, there was no official notice yet, so this was probably the official announcement.

The girl standing next to Fenly asked in a whisper, "Hey, didn't they say that the results would be announced next month. Why is it brought forward?"

Fenly could not hide her smugness, but pretended to be modest and said, "I don't know. Maybe it's not about that. Let’s listen to Lydia."

In her heart, she was very flattered by this.

"Why don't you discuss it amongst yourselves and I'll come back later?"

Lydia's voice was not angry, but it was powerful. Soon, everyone was silent.

Lindsey also thought that this was about Fenly’s transfer and watched casually. She only thought about finishing her hot coffee after the meeting was over before it got cold.

"Originally, the new CFO was very satisfied with our department’s performance and wanted to pick one person from our department as an assistant. This also means that he would personally train up that person."

As Lydia said that, her eyes swept over to Lindsey as she was most optimistic about her.
