The smell of Yvette's perfume was mixed with the slightly sweet smell of alcohol. Shaun's brow furrowed tighter and he finally could not help but rebuke her. "Do you know how dangerous it is for a girl to go to a bar alone?"
Yvette was a little drunk, but she still refuted. “It’s none of your business!”
She was furious. Shaun took a deep breath and resisted the impulse to throw her on the floor. He just opened the door, went upstairs, and threw her onto the bed with one swift move.
Yvette propped herself up and shook her head, but the dizziness grew stronger.
She squinted as Shaun’s figure seemed to be shaking in front of her. "Where is this place? What do you want?"
"Now you’re scared?" Shaun looked at her from above only to feel that he had used up all the anger in his life tonight.
The woman across from him just snickered. "Ha! Afraid of you?"
Shaun felt that he was going to be even more exasperated if he continued talking to her, so he turned around and went into the bathroom.
Yvette stumbled to get up and tried to run out of the room, but she could not see clearly and fell off the bed, hitting her head on the floor with a loud thud.
It just so happened that she hit the same spot on her forehead as earlier.
Yvette's eyes instantly turned red.
Shaun came out of the bathroom and saw Yvette sitting on the floor, holding her forehead. His heart clenched as he strode over and squatted down to look at her. He asked with worry, “What happened?”
Yvette lifted her head. Her eyes that were as red as a rabbit’s stared straight into Shaun's eyes.
The tears that were welling up in her eyes found an outlet and streamed down her cheeks.
"It's all your fault! It's all your fault!" Yvette just kept hitting Shaun and blamed him without reason.
Shaun sighed and ignored her unreasonable behavior. He used the warm towel in his hand to wipe Yvette's face while he carefully rubbed her forehead.
"It's all your fault! Shaun Juhl, you bastard!" The effects of alcohol started to manifest. Yvette had double vision, but she just kept on muttering.
Lindsey's phone call came in at this time. Shaun hung up after a few words. He was so annoyed that he casually turned off his phone.
The girl in front of him was getting more reckless.
The makeup on her face was mostly wiped off by Shaun, revealing an incredibly beautiful face. Her eyes were a bit misty as she looked at Shaun.
"How many glasses did you drink?" Shaun asked as he carried her to the bed.
Yvette stretched out four fingers. After counting them, she added another one.
Shaun sighed again and began to check her feet. There were some small scratches, but nothing serious.
He got up to get some ointment, but as soon as he turned around, Yvette grabbed his hand.
"Shaun..."
Yvette’s eyes were like a pitiful abandoned puppy. Shaun suddenly became soft-hearted. He lowered his head. "Hmm?"
"I really like you a lot." Yvette suddenly straightened up by grabbing his arm. Her red eyes stared at Shaun unblinkingly. "Shaun..."
Zayn grunted with an impatient look on his face. In the end, he answered the call. He lowered his voice, but his tone was still mean as he said, "You'd better have a valid reason as to why you're calling me at this hour."
Over the phone, Lindsey could clearly hear Callum yelling from a distance, "Zayn Guggenheim! You still have the f*cking heart to sleep?! Do you know that my sister’s missing?"
He was so loud that Zayn held the phone away from his ear. He gestured for Lindsey to sleep first before he pushed the door open.
"How is it my business if your sister’s missing?" Zayn walked to the stairway and made sure that he did not disturb Lindsey and the child before he nonchalantly replied.
"Zayn Guggenheim! Are you even human?" Zayn could feel Callum’s anger through the phone. If he was here in person, he would have pounced on Zayn already.
Zayn was not bothered to waste time with Callum and directly said, "Your sister is with Shaun Juhl, so you're looking for the wrong person."
"F*ck! I knew this bastard didn't have any good intentions!" Callum cursed and used the same words as Yvette. "Yvette’s phone can’t be reached. What are they doing together at this hour?! Shaun Juhl, that beast! I’ll skin him alive!"
Unfortunately, Callum was in the States and could not get to Shaun. He then tried to instruct Zayn, "Why don’t you check it out for me if he’s bullying my sister?"
"You didn’t send someone to follow your sister? You can't find where Shaun lives or you don't know how to open the door?" The two people might be making love willingly, so Zayn certainly did not want to be the bad cop.
Callum was furious. "Of course I searched everywhere! But this bastard lives in a different hotel every day, so who knows where he’s staying today?"
Shaun bought a few properties, but he never lived in them and usually stayed in hotels.
However, Shaun returned to his own house tonight. Callum never would have thought of this.
Zayn did not want to babble on with Callum and said, "Well, I already told you what I know. Goodbye."
