Lindsey Juhl fished out her phone from her bag. The phone rang a few times before the call went through.

"Zayn, I'm at your office lobby." After saying that, Lindsey hung up the phone.

In the top floor conference room, all eyes watched as Mr. Guggenheim made a gesture to pause the meeting. Zayn then answered a phone call and quickly hung up again.

"The meeting is suspended and will resume in half an hour," Zayn said and ignored the reactions of everyone in the room. He then walked away and ordered the assistant beside him, "Go down and pick someone up."

The assistant was confused and thought, ‘Who is it?’ However, he did not dare to ask, so he went downstairs without hesitation.

When he saw Lindsey, he understood why the workaholic president suddenly suspended the meeting, which was the first time since Mr. Guggenheim took over the company.

"Ms. Juhl, this way please."

Lindsey saw him and followed him up to the top floor.

In Zayn's office.

Jenny Lenig was also a participant in the meeting earlier. She followed Zayn back to his office.

"Zayn, why did you suddenly suspend the meeting? Is something wrong?"

"Mmm." Zayn nodded slightly and did not stay idle. He took a document on his desk and read it.

A few moments later, he sensed that Jenny was still there, so he looked up and asked, "Is there anything else?"

Jenny was stunned and replied, "Oh, umm...no..."

"If there’s nothing else, you may leave."

Jenny looked at his cold profile, stomped her foot, and reluctantly walked out. When she reached the door, she happened to see Lindsey, who was following behind Zayn's assistant.

Lindsey did not even notice Jenny as she stormed into Zayn’s office.

Jenny's eyes widened and subconsciously wanted to follow her in, but she was stopped by the assistant outside the door.

"Sorry, Ms. Lenig, the President has instructed that he doesn’t want to be disturbed."

"You..." Jenny looked at the assistant's smiling face and gritted her teeth at him.

"Zayn Guggenheim, are you doing this on purpose?" Lindsey did not notice that the door behind her was closed. The damage she caused to her company, being scolded by her boss, being ostracized and targeted by her colleagues, and all those aggravations she had suffered from Zayn for so long were eating away at her sanity.

"What's all this noise?" Zayn crossed his legs and threw the document on the desk.

When Lindsey saw his attitude, it was even harder to suppress her anger. Somehow, she found the courage to pick up some items from Zayn's desk and threw them on the floor viciously.

"Why can you act recklessly yet I have to bear all the consequences?! Zayn Guggenheim, did I owe you in my past life?"

Zayn did not expect her to be so angry. All kinds of documents and papers were strewn across the floor. Lindsey stood in front of him with red eyes and said, "Tell me! What did I do that’s so wrong? Just because of your suspicion, I have to bear the reputation of ruining my company's contract! I was slandered that I relied on my connections to get to the top and that I have no real ability! Zayn, tell me! What exactly did I do wrong?"

Lindsey was enraged and could not hold back her tongue. She did not know what she said and only wanted to vent out all her anger.

Something flashed in Zayn’s eyes. His heartstrings were pulled by Lindsey and it hurt a little.

The corners of his lips curled up into a mocking smile. The little bit of delight he felt in the beginning disappeared without a trace. The words he said were more bone-chilling than the cold winter gust.

"Didn’t you rely on your connections to get your position?"

"Zayn Guggenheim..." He was sitting down as she stood there. She was at an advantage in terms of their position, but because of that one sentence, she was crushed at his feet.

Lindsey closed her eyes and forced back the hint of moisture welling up from under her eyes.

"Try me!"

"Lindsey Juhl, I think I’ve been treating you too well." Zayn grabbed Lindsey by the neck, but he did not exert any force. He caressed her gently, but the look on his face looked as if he could break her neck at any moment.

Lindsey did not avoid it.

All of a sudden, Zayn tightened his grip and said by her ear, “Do you think anyone will dare to touch a woman that I no longer want?”

After he said that, he threw her to the floor as if she was trash.

Lindsey coughed badly, but still managed to say, "Zayn Guggenheim, I’ll get a divorce from you!"

After Lindsey left, Zayn picked up the document on the table again, but he could not read a single word.

The assistant waited anxiously outside the door for a long time before carefully knocking on the door to enter.

"President, the department heads have been waiting for a long time. Is the meeting still happening?"

The man sitting at the desk did not say anything. The assistant could not tell what was his boss’ mood, so he watched nervously and was ready to ask again. However, Zayn said in a low voice, "Yes."

Lindsey left Denarius and did not go back to her office. Instead, she took a taxi to the outskirts of the city.

The old orphanage had long been torn down and had been rebuilt into a sizable orphanage. Even the teachers who had taken care of them when they were children had been replaced by a new group of people. There was no longer any trace of the past.

Lindsey stood in front of the orphanage for a long time. The security guard at the entrance came over and asked her several times if she wanted to go in.

She just waved her hand and said, "I'm just standing here to take a look."

The memories she had when she was a child at the orphanage flashed across her mind vividly like an old movie.
