Looking at the President, who had closed his eyes again, the driver hurriedly snapped back to his senses and started the engine. He turned in another direction and drove towards Opal Suites.

It was already very late, but there were still quite a lot of cars on the road. After all, for many urban youths, their nightlife had just begun.

The disorienting street lights outside the car window hit Zayn's face and reflected into his mind through his eyelids, making it seem like he had fallen into a strange dream world and could not come out no matter how much he struggled.

"President, we're here." The driver’s voice suddenly pulled Zayn back to reality.

Zayn blinked hard to get rid of the dizzy feeling before he pushed the car door open and got out.

There was a small flower bed behind him. The car was parked in the dark as Zayn stood under the street light. From this angle looking upwards, he could see Lindsey's room.

However, he could only see the lights in the room.

The streetlight stretched his shadow and made him look like a homeless person.

Zayn’s gaze just landed on that rectangular patch of warm light and did not look away for a long time.

Upstairs, Lindsey was putting Dezi to sleep.

"Dezi, you can't watch cartoons anymore. It's time to sleep." Lindsey reached out and patted him on the head.

Dezi was a good boy. He consciously reached out and turned off the TV, then stretched out his two little arms for Lindsey to carry him.

"Do you know that you're getting heavier by the day?" Lindsey tapped the tip of his tiny nose, but she still reached out and picked him up.

"OMG...soooo heavy!" Lindsey exaggerated. Dezi blinked and thought that he was really this heavy.

Lindsey looked at his dumbfounded face and could not help but smile.

She put him on the bed and realized that his socks were missing.

"Where are your socks?" Lindsey pretended to be mad and looked at him. This boy did not like to wear socks and often ran around barefoot on the floor.

She had just put them on for him after his bath earlier. It had only been a while yet they were already gone.

Often when Lindsey was not paying attention, Dezi would rip his socks off his feet.

Dezi was still afraid that Lindsey would get angry although she was not really mad at him.

He then pointed to the sofa outside. Lindsey pointed at him with disapproving eyes.

Lindsey then turned around and went to find his socks while Dezi meekly tucked himself under the covers.

Dezi felt a breeze and turned to look in that direction, only to find that the window was not closed tightly and there was a small gap. Thinking of Lindsey's habit of closing the window tightly every day, Dezi lifted the covers with his small hands.

After thinking about it, he put on his little slippers, then pushed a short stool in the room to the window. He stood up carefully and tried to close the window.

However, his strength was limited and the window did not budge. Dezi let out a sigh and he unintentionally looked downwards. At a glance, he saw a figure under the street light downstairs.

Zayn knew that he could not see them and sometimes would not even catch Lindsey’s shadow, but he still wanted to stand there a little longer.

Dezi pursed his lips and gave her a silly smile, then nodded his head.

After listening to Lindsey’s lecture, Dezi had already forgotten about the familiar figure he had just seen and did not think about it.

Lindsey tucked him in and got up to check the windows in the room again before she closed the door behind her.

Zayn was standing in the dark when he saw Lindsey’s figure appear by the window carrying Dezi. After a while, she came by the window again, but this time, she did not pull open the curtains and he could only see a fuzzy silhouette.

His chest was suddenly filled with some kind of emotion.

Once the lights in both rooms went out one after another, Zayn returned to the car.

The driver was waiting until he almost fell asleep. When he saw Zayn coming in, he jolted awake.

"Let’s go back to the hotel."

The black car slowly drove away from Opal Suites as if it was never there.

The next day was the weekend, but Lindsey got up early. She somehow slept less lately. Sometimes, she would not be able to sleep until dawn. Only then would she sleep in a little. If she was lucky enough to fall asleep early at night, she would wake up early the next morning.

Dezi did not have to go to school today, so Lindsey wanted to take him to the amusement park.

After getting up early and having breakfast, Lindsey was ready to take Dezi out.

"Aunt Wendy, are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Lindsey asked again before leaving the house and did not want to leave her alone at home.
