Chapter 12 novel He Bought Her Heart, Then Destroyed It

"Brother-in-law, my sister told me before that her biggest wish was for you to let her go."

"You two are just torturing each other. It's better if..."

Bang! The phone crashed against the wall, shattering into pieces. Helen stared at the furious man in front of her in shock.

"As long as I’m alive, she’ll never have freedom in this lifetime."

James threw those words out and slammed the door behind him.

Inside the car, his anger still hadn't dissipated. He furiously dialed Heather's number.

He had to confront her and find out whether she had been with Luke during these past thirty days!

The phone rang, but all he heard was the cold automated message.

"Hello, the number you dialed is not in service..."

James froze. How could Heather’s number suddenly become disconnected?

He had doubted Helen’s words earlier, but now, he had to believe them.

Heather was deliberately avoiding him. If she hadn't done something wrong, why wouldn't she answer his calls?

Had she really decided to be with Luke?

James nearly crushed the phone in his hand. He sat silently in the car for a while before dialing his assistant.

"Find out what Luke has been up to these past two weeks since his release."

The next morning, the assistant came to report.

"Luke registered a new company, claiming he wants to make a comeback."

"A new company?"

James gritted his teeth. A man who had been in prison for seven years had the money to start a new company?

"How much is the registered capital?"

"Ten million."

James's face immediately darkened, and the assistant couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

"Mr. Spencer, what should I do?"

James tapped his fingers on the desk before suddenly smiling, a chilling smile.

"My archenemy starts a new company, how can I not give him a grand opening gift?"

"You mean..."

"I want him to come to me personally and beg."

"Got it, Mr. Spencer. I'll take care of it right away!"

After the assistant left, James sat alone in his office, staring out the window motionless.

After a moment, he suddenly stood up, angrily sweeping the documents off the desk.
