Chapter Twenty Four

Sahaan adoringly stares at his back with a smile, secretly thanking God in her heart for giving her such an amazing brother. He’s a ray of sunshine and a bundle of happiness in her gloomy life.

They both bring brownies and tea for everyone in the hall. They’re mostly chattering about the wedding tomorrow.

She gives brownies to her cousins, gives tea to the elders, and then goes to her grandmother’s room to give her tea. When she’s done, she comes outside. All of her female cousins are huddled in a corner, applying henna for tomorrow. Amrah is the only one not present since she’s with her henna artist in her room.

Isra notices Sahaan standing and she drags her to one of the henna artists, forcing her to sit down to apply henna. Sahaan protests, but Isra shushes her.

"Shut up and sit down! Grandma told me to do this! If I don’t do it, she’ll beat me up with her ancestral walking cane! And will you like seeing your baby sister getting hit?” She gives her the puppy eyes. Sahaan isn't able to refuse as she sits while grudgingly glaring at isra.

Isra is avoiding eye contact, knowing how scary her glare can be.

Sahaan notices her henna is different compared to her other cousins. Hers is bridal henna while the others had simple designs.
