Chapter 125 

A gust of wind blew past, scattering Lily’s jet–black hair, hall of her face hidden beneath the strands 

Her striking eyes peeked out, meeting Xavier’s gaze. Her petite hand rested in front of him, delicate lines on her skin hinting at a soft pink tone 

In that moment, Xavier lost his focus 

Noticing his stillness, Lily stepped forward, reaching into his pants pocket to pull out the car key. 

“I’ll get in the car first,” she said, turning toward the vehicle. 

As she brushed past him, Xavier felt her hand skim his leg, his dress pants clinging to his thighs. 

He snapped back to reality, his gaze darkening as he watched her climb into the car before he turned to walk into the store 

Inside, the staff had already prepared the purchase contract and led Xavier to the VIP room to sit. 

“Sir, may I ask—are you married?” the staff member inquired. 

Xavier settled onto the sofa, crossing his legs, pausing briefly before answering instinctively, “Yes 

“Well, just a reminder,” the staff continued, “If the car is purchased under your name, it will be considered joint property between you and your spouse. 

“It might not be appropriate for you to give this young lady a car in your name.” 

At first, the staff had assumed Lily was just a young girl trying to climb the social ladder. But now, they realized she was a mistress being kept by a wealthy man 

Buying something for a mistress under one’s name? That was not something one should do. Aside from the money, if the wife found out and checked the assets, it would all be exposed. 

“What did you say?” Xavier’s eyes narrowed, a chilling aura emanating from him. “What’s inappropriate about it?” 

The staff member, who was a newcomer, didn’t recognize Xavier but could tell he was a wealthy man. He didn’t understand why Xavier was upset after his well–meaning reminder. 

“Of course, sir, it’s your business,” the man said quickly. “I was just offering a suggestion. If neither you nor the young lady outside mind, we can proceed with the signing.” 

Xavier held the pen but didn’t sign immediately. Instead, he glanced toward the window. The privacy film on the car blocked the view inside, but he imagined Lily sitting upright in the passenger seat. 

After a moment, he looked away and, as he signed, asked, “Tod you give her the same reminder?” “Well, sort of,” the staff member replied with a polite smile. “This young lady is very well–behaved” 

Well–behaved? She was mistaken for a mistress but didn’t correct anyone or reveal that she was his wife? Xavier frowned deeply. She knew how to play along–perhaps too well, to the point that it made him uneasy. 

After signing the documents and completing the formalities, he ordered the car delivered to his home before leaving 

Lily was engrossed in her phone about the renovation plans for Glenview Villa, She needed to send the plans to Sarah when work resumed on Monday Suddenly, the car door opened, and Xavier gracefully slid inside. She instinctively put away her phone and buckled her seatbel 

“If you’re going to the company, drop me off at the bus station,” she said. “I’ll head back to the manor myself.” 

Xavier started the engine, releasing a short, low sound through his nose. They fell into their usual rhythm–she knew her place, and he was cold, speaking Linte 

The Maybach stopped at a nearby bus station, and Lily stepped out, closing the door behind her. She stood on the platform, watching the car disappear into the distance until it was out of sight. 

Ten minutes later, she caught the bus back to the Fulton Manor.
