Chapter 127 

“If you don’t mention him for a day, I’ll forget about him a little more. 

Lily took off her sunglasses and exited the car, closing the door behind her. She had learned the art of distraction. Whenever she saw Xavier, she had mastered controlling her emotions. 

Aside from Maryanne, no one else ever brought up Xavier to her. 

She told herself she’d get through this soon–the tormenting heartache would eventually pass. 

“Wait until she’s heartbroken after breaking up. Then we can bring her other half up and let her experience the same feeling” 

Terence stood nearby, holding two bags of popcom and two cups of drink 

Lily took a small step to avoid bumping into him, then noticed him. “Terence? You’re here too?” 

“Are you sure you’re still my brother? Maryanne pouted, clearly upset. “Aside from my parents, you two are the closest to me. Every weekend, I’m shuttling back and forth between you both. Do you know how exhausting that is?” 

Terence chuckled. “Are you sure you’re the one accompanying us?” 

Maryanne didn’t have a comeback, so she turned to look at Lily. “My brother isn’t planning on leaving this time. He decided to spend every weekend with me to make up for the past two years of neglect. 

“I’m not the type to neglect my friends, so when it’s time to hang out, I’ll be with you!” 

She hooked her arm through Lily’s and pulled her toward the cinema. 

“I just can’t help itself. Don’t be mad at me. I’m just worried you’ll get moved or confused by Xavier again.” Maryanne teased 

Lily was pulled up the steps and found herself by Terence’s side. Terence handed her a cup of drink and a bag of popcorn. 

“The movie e tickets are with Maryanne. You two go ahead. I’ll wait outside.” 

“Aren’t you coming in?” Lily asked as she took the items from him. “Come watch with us. 

“No need. I’ve already seen this movie. You two go ahead,” Terence said with a smile, gently nudging them into the theater before sitting down in the 

waiting area.

ly entered the theater, she saw that Terence had already taken out his laptop and was getting to work. 

“Is Terence really that busy?” 

Maryanne found their seats and pulled Lily down beside her. “So busy! I don’t know what kind of investment he’s trying to secure, but he’s offended all the major shareholders and even managed to get Dad riled up 

“If he’s that busy, then he shouldn’t be spending time watching a movie with us,” Lily commented. She felt that such pointless companionship wasn’t 

necessary. 

“I told him he could work from home and only needed to show up when I needed him, but he’s stubborn. He insists on keeping his word. But he knows what he’s doing–he won’t let it interfere with his work.” 

Maryanne didn’t understand either. When had Terence become so committed to keeping his promises? 

The movie started, and Lily stopped talking 

After the movie, they walked out. Terence was waiting for them at the exit, holding his laptop bag.
