Both Edith and Shane looked at him, curious about what he was about to say with his unfinished sentence. What was he going to tell them? 

“We’ve already found another place for the marital home. She’s not angry.”

He had actually lied for a woman. Lily was truly his nemesis. 

Edith stared at him for a few seconds, then turned to Shane. “Shane, I don’t trust him. You call Lily, I want to hear it from her.” 

“Mom, you know Xavier doesn’t lie. He’s very capable, and there’s nothing he can’t handle.” Shane decided to trust Xavier. 

Xavier rubbed his shoulder and neck before standing up. “Grandma, Dad, it’s getting late. I’ve had a long day at work. I’ll go upstairs to rest. 

“Rest upstairs?” Edith grabbed her cane. “Go home and sleep with Lily!” 

“That’s right. Lily is alone at home. She’ll be scared.” 

Shane stood up and draped a coat over Xavier’s shoulders. “Be careful on the way back. Get the contract issue sorted soon, or your mom will be worrying again…” 

Xavier, who had been forcibly sent out of the house, was speechless. 

Lly couldn’t describe how she felt at this moment. Her emotions were mixed. She hadn’t eaten lunch and was holding her laptop, preparing for the upcon.ing competition.
