Chapter 74 

Xavier’s thin lips were pressed together tightly, and his hands tightened in his pockets. He wished he could pick Lily up and teach her a lesson. 

After a moment, he suppressed his emotions and decided not to embarrass Sarah. “You’re the boss.” 

Sarah smiled and gestured to Nadia. “Let’s go upstairs and take some measurements.” 

Nadia hurried upstairs with her. Lily turned and followed, trying her best to look nonchalant. 

“Sarah, I think that the interior design here is pretty good!” The further upstairs Nadia went, the more her eyes lit up. 

The moment she entered, she’d felt that the decor of the villa was very unique and stylish. It wasn’t the Yewro–style or cottage–style decor that could be seen everywhere. 

It had a distinct, personal style, which was very niche. In the design industry, it might even become a new trend! 

“I don’t like it,” Sarah answered crisply. 

Everyone had their own preferences, so Nadia did not say anything. Besides, Xavier had plenty of money. It would be perfectly normal for him to spend a fortune to redo the decor in a style that Sarah liked. 

However, she asked, “Did your boyfriend hire someone to renovate this place?” 

Sarah nodded. “I think so.” 

“Which design company and designer did he hire?” Nadia was obsessed with design, and she wanted to discuss the color scheme with whoever the designer was. 

“I don’t know where he found them from.” Sarah glanced at Lily, who was following them. She genuinely didn’t know who’d designed the house. 

However, she was sure that some of the minute details of the place were Lily’s design, because the details were very thoughtful. They were filled with Lily’s hopes for this place as their marital home. 

Now, she was going to dash all of Lily’s hopes! 

Nadia pleaded, “If you have time, can you ask your boyfriend who he asked to design it?” 

“I’ll ask if I have time,” Sarah said perfunctorily. 

The building was three stories high, and there was even a sunroom on the top floor. The third floor was the entertainment area, which had a home theater and various kinds of gym equipment. 

The second floor had the bedrooms and study, and it was the main living area of the villa. Meanwhile, the first floor contained the dining room, kitchen, living room, and a few guest rooms. They started taking measurements on the third floor. Lily said nothing as she recorded the dimensions of each space. She could only put everything out of her mind if she immersed herself in her work. 

However, Sarah kept “casually” mentioning her boyfriend to Nadia. 

The atmosphere in the villa was making Lily feel suffocated, and she wanted to escape. 

The moment her phone rang in her bag, she handed her paper and pen quickly to Nadia. “I’m going to take a call.” 

She went out of the gym and entered the home theater, which was on her right. 

“Terence?” 

Maryanne had made the call, but it was Terence who spoke, and it surprised Lily. 

“Aren’t you done with work yet, Lily?” The soundproofing in the room was very good, and it was quiet. 

The man on the phone sounded gentle and affectionate, and Lily could hear him very clearly. 

“I’m out with Ms. Cooper, so it might take a while before I can get off work,” Lily answered honestly. 

“I’m at your front door. Maryanne’s bought a lot of groceries, but you’re not around.” Terence and Maryanne had already been waiting for quite some time.”
