Of the Internet stories I have ever read, perhaps the most impressive one is I'm the Obsession of My Cold-Hearted Ex. The story is too good, leaving me with many doubts. Currently, the manga has been translated to Chapter Ch 402. Let's read the author's I'm the Obsession of My Cold-Hearted Ex Internet story right here.
Chapter 402 Resignation Denied
So he was really going to dig into it?
Ellis blinked, caught off guard.
“It’s just that…” She suddenly remembered the file Easton had given her. “Mr. Fox, as you know, my previous job was in a different industry. After thinking it through these past few days; I realized I prefer my old field.”
“Different industries, sure.” Maxwell replied, “but your responsibilities and promotion path are practically the same. And the salary and benefits here are better than your last two jobs.”
He didn’t get it. She wasn’t being mistreated. Everything about her role was smooth. Why would she want to leave?
He handed her resignation letter back. “I’m not accepting this. Take some time to think it over.”

Ellis stared at him, stunned.
Why would he stop her from resigning? If he was unhappy with her performance, shouldn’t he be glad to see her go?
What was his real reason?
Maxwell glanced at the door, clearly dismissing her. “Get back to work. Come talk to me again when you’ve really thought this through
Okay. Mr. Fox.”
Ellis left the office, utterly baffled.
Just as she stepped out, she ran into Cleveland on his way in. She stopped him.
Cleveland blinked. “Ms. Harper, do you need me for something? Or is Mr. Fox in a bad mood and you’re trying to give me a friendly heads–up so I don’t walk into a scolding?”
“No.” Ellis said, shaking her head. “I just want to ask you something
Cleveland dropped his hand from the door and stood upright. “Of course. Go ahead”
“Is your department transfer still happening?”
“Of course it is”
“When exactly will you no longer be Mr. Fox’s assistant?” She didn’t mean to sound like she was prying, but her current situation was closely tied to his.
If Cleveland was truly being transferred, and Maxwell fired her, then his assistant position would be empty. But if Cleveland wasn’t going anywhere and she resigned, the position would still be filled.
Was Maxwell refusing to accept her resignation simply because he hadn’t found a replacement yet?
Cleveland scratched his head and thought for a second. “Earliest would be the start of next month, latest the end of next mouth. The exact timing depends on how quickly you pick things up.”
Basically, once she could take over fully, he’d be gone.
Ellis couldn’t figure Maxwell out.
This job was more demanding than her last two, but unlike them, she wasn’t being nitpicked or made to feel incompetent

Cleveland, meanwhile, stood at the door, completely confused.
Why would Ellis ask him that out of nowhere?
Still puzzled, he knocked and stepped into Maxwell’s office.
Emished
Before he could say anything. Maxwell looked up. “Ellis just handed me her resignation. Has she ever told you she wasn’t happy here
Cleveland blinked in surprise. So that’s what this was about.
He’d assumed Maxwell was calling him in for work, not to ask about Ellis.
“She didn’t say anything to me.” Cleveland replied quickly, shaking his head.
He could practically see the disappointment in Maxwell’s face–as if saying. Useless,
“Think carefully,” Maxwell said. “Any hims? Anything she might’ve said that stood out?
Cleveland racked his brain. Nothing important came to mind. But he did remember
“Uh, Mr. Fox, I think he started nervously.
But his courage faltered halfway through, and he started stammering.
