CHAPTER 87
HALLOWEEN DANCE
LINDY’S POV
OCTOBER 31, 2015
Martha and I had the busiest day ever getting ready for the Halloween Dance. We went out early getting our nails done, our hairs treated in salons, had facials and foot spas and bought a few accessories to complete our look. I managed to get my Belle dress inspired by Emma Watson’s look from the laudry shop with Martha and we bought heels that matches our costume which were on sale. We went to her house and got ourselves ready in there since she had fancier make up than me in her bedroom.
Martha was much more excited than me for the Halloween Dance and I am happy to be doing this with her before we go seperate ways in college. I will be busier in school and so will she. I wanted to do something fun with her and I cannot wait to go all out tonight. Martha was doing my make up and I told her I wanted something not too much to which she disagreed because she emphasized that I needed to look extra special tonight.
Once she was done with my make up, I was amazed at how I looked because the make up really looked great on me. It wonderfully matched my dress and I didn’t look too much and didn’t look to dry too. I loved the highlighter she placed over my cheekbone which looked as if I was shimmering. She began ficxing my hair and it did not take her a long time to finish since my hair was not too long.
When I was done, I was transformed into Belle from the live action Disney Movie Beauty and the Beast when I wore my yellow gown. The gown smelled like flower from the laundry and my heels looked tremendously pretty which I adored aside from the fact that it was on sale. I watch as Martha did her own make up for her Catwoman look and how skillful she was when she started applying her eyeshadow on.
I was amazed as I was staring at her doing her make up so fast because I have no single idea how to put those palettes on my eyelids and blend it. She was great at it and how she managed to do the contouring perfectly while she was giving me lectures on how to do it personally.
“You can be a make-up artist vlogger.” I tell her.
She laughs, “As if someone would subscribe.”
“I would. I mean you’re really really good at this.”
She smiles at me over the mirror, “Linds, you just think I am good at it because you don’t know how to do it.”
“I don’t think so. The Ariana Grande make up last year was super on point! You really looked exactly like her. And, look at my make up, I look amazing!”
“Damn right you are, boo!”
I smile at her as she continues to do her hair, curling it on the ends before putting on her black cat ears over her head which almost looked real. She wore a bright red lipstick and black eyeshadow with glitter and looked stunning. She looked like a temptious cat that is so ready to party for tonight and it gets me more excited to spend it with her.
As I returned to her bedroom, I see her talking to someone over the phone. “Yes! We are about to leave my house.” She turns to me as soon as she noticed me entering. She smiles, “I can’t wait too. We’ll see you there. Bye-bye.” She hangs up and smiled at me.
“Who was that?”
“Ken. He called in to tell us that the registration is now starting and we have to go.” She says so excitedly. For a second, I was hoping it was Niall because Harry hasn’t been texting me and I know I should not feel disappointed about it because we are nothing but friends and he is not obliged to message me everytime.
I smiled.
“Are you okay?” She asks me.
I nod, “I just wish….”
She frowns, “What’s wrong?”
I shake my head, “I just wish Harry would text me. He hasn’t messaged me.”
Martha cups my cheek, “I am sure he is busy. Anyways, we have a halloween dance to enjoy!”
I smiled and nodded at her as I began to walk out of her bedrrom as we took pictures in her living room which were taken by her mom. I tried to set my mood into partying and told myself that I should not be sad about the fact that Harry is not texting me for almost an entire day. We headed to the hotel riding her mom’s car and we thanked her the moment we reached the venue.
Around eight in the evening, we registered ourselves to the party where we saw the entire students dressed in amazing costumes. I was shocked at how grand their costumes were because they really went to the extremes. There were students who dressed up as masketeers, as a king, as Queen Elizabeth, Dracula, someone dressed up as Olaf, angel, a Princess in a huge ball gown, a fairy, Mario and Luigi a damn marshmallow and a whole lot more which were so much to think about.
I see Avery, dressed up as a slutty-looking Elsa from Frozen and I didn’t know Elsa had that kind of a provocative dress. It suited her though because of her blond hair that matches Elsa on the movie and she looked absolutely shimmering all over with all the glitter on. Her circle of friends looked expensive and wore really amazing costumes which transformed themselves into the characters they were copying.
Martha laughs, “There’s even someone who actually had a Beast costume!”
I look over to the person who had a beast head piece on his head and wondered how in hell would he able to survive the hotness in there for the entire night. He was dancing in the corner and seems to be having fun all by himself. I looked away as soon as Martha dragged me to the dancefloor where we joined the rest of the students who were dancing too.
My eyes glanced on the stage and it was a huge stage where a band was playing who were also wearing costumes. They had a massive marquee with our high school’s name on it and they transformed the entire stage into a scary graveyard with tombstones and fake cobwebs. The entire ballroom was filled with black and orange balloons and so much spooky designs.
“This is going to be our last party as high school!” Martha screams over the loud music while I was dancing with her.
I nod with a smile on my face and found myself enjoying. “I can’t believe I am dancing!”
She laughs, “We should make the most of this night!! Wuhoo!!”
I laughed and danced with Martha along the upbeat music which was played by the band on stage. All students on the dance floor wearing various costumes were also having fun dancing and laughing. I see the faculty also dressed up in spooky and funny costumes and some students wore superhero costumes. It was insane seeing students having fun before we all head on different paths of becoming college students in different colleges.
The music continues as I excused myself from the dancefloor because I was getting tired with all the dancing. I went to the drinking station which had various drinks and labels on them. I grabbed a cup and and poured myself some drinks because I getting pretty thirsty. I grabbed a red punch which was labeled non-alcoholic strawberry juice.
I flinched when I found another student standing next to me who wore a really cool full geared Deadpool costume. He had the exact jumpsuit of Dead Pool, leg guard, gloves, belt plus bag, strap, leg bags a fake dagger, a leather Dead Pool mask and two swords attached on his back. He was getting himself a drink too before he stares at me and pulled a thumb’s up.
“Nice costume!” I screamed over the loud music and he gestured a bow to show thanks, I think.
