Julian stopped beside Willow, She said softly, It’s snowing so heavily. There’s no snow in Brindley.

It had been a long time since they’d had such a calm conversation, and Julian’s heart softened. Brindley only starts snowing at the end of December. After about two weeks of that, I’ll take you up the mountains so we can admire the snow.

Willow didn’t say whether she was okay with that. Instead, she turned to look at him. He handed her the agreement Steven had signed. Mr. York has signed this.

She took it and flipped through it. Then, she said, Thanks for tonight..

He wanted to tell her that she didn’t need to thank him because they were married, but he decided against it because he figured she would refute him. So, he said, It’s getting late. Let’s go back to the hotel.

Julian was in Padstow for personal reasons, so he didn’t have a car at the ready. He hitched a ride with Willow and Annie back to the hotel.

The chauffeur said, It’s still possible to drive now, but it’s gonna be difficult when the snow becomes thicker. If you’re stuck here because of the weather, you can take the opportunity to see the sights. We do have some lovely places here.

Julian leaned against the backseat lazily, slightly drunk from the alcohol. The faint scent of it permeated the car.

It was dark in the car, but lights occasionally shone in from outside, briefly illuminating it. It was snowing again outside, which made for a romantic scene. It was a feeling like never before.

Julian couldn’t resist reaching out to hold Willow’s slender wrist. She was evidently startled and tried to pull away, but his hand slid from her wrist to her hand, holding it in his.

Shewed away, feeling a little embarrassed.

He turned with her and watched her silently. He admired her fragile beauty. It was snowing outside, but his heart was on fire.

The chauffeur drove slowly due to the snow, so it took them an hour to get back to the hotel. Julian walked Willow all the way back to her hotel room. As he watched her enter the room, he said, Take a warm bath and have a good night’s sleep.

She had mixed feelings about the whole thing. In the end, she smiled the tiniest of smiles.

He couldn’t help smiling in return when he caught it. It’s rare to see you smile nowadays.

Even after returning to his room, Julian couldn’t help thinking about Willow’s smile. Perhaps it was because she was about to become a mother, but he felt like she was gentle no matter what she did. Even when berating him, he found her tender and loving.

He was desperate to kiss and make up with her. He wanted to live with her and their childtheir Landon.

He was in such a good mood that he took a photo of the night view and sent it to Willow. Sharing everything was also a way to show one’s feelings for another.

He looked out at the snow and figured they could probably stay in Padstow for a few more days, judging from how heavy the

snowfall was.

Just then, Julian’s phone rang. It was a call from Charlie, which he rejected.

Charlie didn’t give up and called again. When Julian finally answered, Charlie said shakily, This is the last time I’m begging you. Please talk some sense into Alicia, if only for the halfloaf of bread you shared!

I swear this is the last timeI won’t bother you in the future, no matter what happens to her! Her mother and I are truly out of ideas. Alicia is on the hospital’s roof and refuses to come down!!

The night outside was dark and eerie. A hint of resignation rose in Julian’s chest because of that halfloaf of bread. He clutched his phone tightly and growled, This is the last time.
