Chapter 317 Who Is He?

Maggie Shen had been lying in bed for a while when she finally got up slowly.

Nathael reached out to pull her back and whispered, “Just sleep a little longer.”

“Ronald said Joseph is in trouble, but I’m not sure what happened.” Maggie said, with Nathael’s arms. wrapped around her waist and her hands pressing against his chest. Reluctantly, she laid back down.

Nathael’s eyes remained closed, and his voice was still a bit husky. He said, “Just a broken leg

Maggie was stunned for a few seconds. She blinked in surprise and asked. “How do you know?”

As soon as the words left her lips, she seemed to realise something. Her eyes widening in disbelief, she asked, “Did you do that to him?”

Before she could finish, Nathael opened his eyes and firmly pressed his lips against hers. “You’re too loud,” he muttered.

The questions swirling in Maggie’s mind turned into shock.

“Nathael Harris, don’t you have kissed me enough?”

As their kiss deepened, Maggie could feel that he was fully awake now, and his actions became more

intense.

“Not yet.” Nathael’s deep voice held a hint of amusement as he stared into her eyes. His dark pupils sparkled with a touch of humour, yet he seemed righteous.

Maggie could hardly catch her breath. She widened her eyes and glared at him for a few seconds. She earnestly advised, “You need to understand the importance of moderation. You’re not young anymore. Don’t indulge excessively, or it might backfire.”

She was serious, feeling like she was on the verge of losing her mind if he continued.

Last night, she couldn’t count how many times she had to call his name. Thinking about it now made her blush. Later, he became even more insistent, constantly asking her to say, ‘I love you“.

She was too shy to say it, so he kept tormenting her.

She was too shy to say it, so he kept teasing her. It wasn’t until she couldn’t bear it anymore that she finally gave in. She repeatedly uttered the same words until he was satisfied and released her.

“You’re quite knowledgeable, Nathael teased her, indulging in the banter for a while.

Eventually, when he saw the dark circles under her eyes and the red streaks in her eyes, he took pity on her. He stopped teasing her.

After lunch, Maggie hurried back to the Camerons‘ residence.

Chapter 317 Who Is He?

Lucas sat on the couch with his laptop in his lap, headphones on, absorbed in his game. His demeanour was distant and silent.

“When did you get here?” Maggie gently asked when she saw him.

Lucas glanced up. When he saw it was Maggie, his usually expressionless and somewhat cold face brightened a little.

“Maggie.”

Maggie couldn’t help but ruffle his messy hair, which was a soft shade of chestnut. It looked good on him.

“Magic’s home.” Joseph and Master Cameron came down from upstairs; their expression was grim.

“Dad, what happened to Joseph?” Maggie asked with concern in her eyes.

Ronald’s expression darkened as he explained, “Yesterday, after he got drunk, someone broke his leg, and he suffered a lot of other injuries. Is this incident something to do with Mr. Harris?”

As Ronald finished speaking, Master Cameron couldn’t help but add, “I asked him and Vanessa about it. They said they only had a minor argument with you two yesterday.”

T’d like to ask Mr. Harris the same question,” Ronald replied in a stern voice; his complexion was ashen. He was clearly unhappy about his only son being beaten.

Master Cameron joined in, saying, “Maggie, our family has always treated you well. Even though you and Joseph didn’t end up together, you grew up together. How could you let Nathael do this?”

Maggie stayed silent for a moment, then she couldn’t hold it back and blurted out, “Dad, I’m not sure if it was Mr. Harris, but if I were him, I might’ve given Joseph a lesson too.”

“Maggie! What do you mean? Have you no conscience?” Madam Cameron’s voice rang out from the hallway, filled with anger.

A moment later, Olivia, who was red–eyed, supported the elderly woman into the room.

Maggie hesitated momentarily, feeling a sense of internal conflict. After some time, she finally decided to play the video that Alex had recorded the previous day.

“Nathael would never marry you. He’s just having fun with you. Even if I made a mistake, at least I was serious about you.”

“Maggie, you have to believe me; I’ll treat you right from now on. You and Nathael aren’t a good match. The Harrises wouldn’t accept someone with your background. Dad only wanted you to get close to Nathael to gain some benefits; he never really cared about you.”

“I don’t even like Vanessa. She can’t compare to you. Give me another chance, okay?”

Everything remained silent.

The room fell silent as the recording played. Everyone’s expression turned ugly.

“Hmm…hmm… Joseph struggled to speak, but his swollen lips made it impossible to form words.

Vanessa’s face turned pale, her eyes welling with tears. She choked out and asked, “Joseph, how could you. do this to me?”

Maggie smiled coldly: Vanessa’s reaction didn’t matter to her. What mattered was Ronald’s response.

When she glanced at him, as expected, his already somewhat gloomy face became grimmer. The look in his eyes was also dark and chilling.
