Bryce had just slipped Mr. Liam a hefty bribe of three hundred grand. If it weren’t for his family’s roots in Banyan City, he’d never have forked over such a large sum. He was banking on infiltrating the Inko Group, after all.

It was all or nothing for Bryce. If he couldn’t flip the board and swindle Parisa’s fortune, how was he supposed to bounce back?

He shot a cold glance at Florence. "Did you get the stuff from the lab?"

"I got several kinds, all with me," Florence replied, looking pale. "Parisa’s been holed up in there, and you can’t figure out a way in. Plus, Mr. Liam’s ignoring you. What now?"

"He’s ignoring me?" Bryce sneered as he texted.

Within seconds, Mr. Liam called back. "Bryce, what’s with the threats?"

"Come on, Mr. Liam," Bryce chuckled darkly, "you think you can just take the money and ditch me without consequences?"

"I told you, it’s the chairman’s orders. She hasn’t authorized you for anything. Looks like you’ve been barking up the wrong tree, trying to throw your weight around with me!" Mr. Liam snapped, clearly irritated.

Bryce’s handsome face darkened with humiliation. "Mr. Liam, you might not realize this, but my secretary filmed you when I handed over that three hundred grand."

"Enough!" Mr. Liam snapped, his nerves fraying. The idea of that video reaching Ms. Tennyson made his stomach turn. He glanced out the office window. "Don’t contact me again! Ms. Tennyson’s likely heading out today. Her assistant requested a bulletproof car and mentioned something about a testing lab. That’s all I know."

He hung up in anger.

Bryce listened to the dial tone, his mind drifting to dark places until Florence brought him back. "What did Mr. Liam say?"

"Parisa might be going out. They’re arranging a bulletproof car," Bryce said, a sinister glint in his eyes. "But what caught my attention was the mention of a testing lab. Is Parisa onto something? Florence, did she get a hold of your hair or something else?"
