Chapter 107~ 

Scott said, “Layla, if you have something to say, just say it directly. What happened? 

“Have you been bullied? If anyone has bullied you, you can tell me directly. I’ll definitely stand up for you!” 

Lola looked up and observed Scott, asking, “Scott, you know my sister Jenna, right?” 

Scott’s expression shifted dramatically. 

At first, his eyes widened in disbelief. However, Scott quickly realized that his reaction might have been too obvious and calmed himself down. 

Scott replied, “Well…of course, I know her. The Jensen family and the Lewis family have been close for many years. Our families have always had a good relationship. Your sister Jenna, she has been missing for a while now, hasn’t she? Why are you bringing her up all of a sudden?” 

Lola looked at him with a complex expression and said, “You seemed a bit agitated when you heard Jenna’s name. Did you two have any history?” 

Her tone 

he was calm, and the look in her eyes was different from usual as if she had seen through everything. 

The look in Lola’s eyes made Scott feel inexplicably anxious. He wondered, ‘Could Lola already know something? No wonder she sought me out for the first time today after so long. But we had all agreed not to dwell on the past. Why does Lola know? Aside from them, no one would tell Lola these things 

With that in mind, Scott’s gaze became serious. However, he dared not to act rashly as he knew that a single wrong word could reveal his secrets. 

He asked, “What are you talking about, Layla? Jenna and I couldn’t possibly have a history. We are just friends. Actually, more like just acquaintances!” 

Lola’s gaze remained fixed on Scott’s face, trying to find any trace of deceit. 

She questioned, “Is that really the case, Scott? You and Jenna are just friends?” 

Upon hearing Jenna’s name again, especially from Lola, Scott was overwhelmed. He felt a sense of unease, fear, and worry creeping into his heart. 

Despite his best efforts to hide his overwhelming emotions, Lola accurately picked up on the subtle signs. 

then began to believe what Jenna had told her. 

Lola pondered, “It seems Scott is indeed lying to me.” 

Scott asked, “Layla, did someone tell you something? Can you tell me? Did Dominick come back and say something to you? Or was it Ethan?! 

“It must be Ethan, right?! I knew it had to be him. We don’t get along well, and for some reason, he just doesn’t like me. I never imagined he would speak ill of me behind my back!” 

He seemed somewhat agitated as he grabbed Lola’s arm, explaining. “Layla, listen to me. You must not listen to what Ethan says. He doesn’t like me and could say anything bad about me, but I swear, Jenna and I have nothing to do with each other! 

“Actually, there might have been some misunderstanding between us, and there also might have been some misunderstanding between me and Ethan. But it’s something I can sort out with him personally by talking to him di So, please, you have to believe me.” 

Lola had barely said anything, and Scott had already reacted so strongly. 

She suddenly found the situation ridiculous, thinking that sometimes there was no need for others to say anything. 

Lola’said, “Scott, Ethan didn’t tell me anything. But, after seeing your reaction, I already have a good idea of what is going

“If you have feelings for Jenna, you should have been consistently good to her instead of wavering between the two of us. 

“Jenna was seriously injured and had surgery. She’s now in the hospital. I think you should go see her.” 

Upon hearing that, Scott was stunned. 

He thought dreadfully, Jenna has come back! I never expected Jenna to return so soon! It would have been one thing if she just came back, but upon her return, she didn’t come home to nje first. Instead, Jenna went to drop a bombshell! But the question is, how did she find out we are all deceiving Lola? Something is not right here. But the most important thing right now is to figure out how to calm Lola down. 

Scott asked, Jen…. Jenna’s back, huh? What did she tell you? You can’t believe everything she says, you know, You should listen to me. There really isn’t anything between me and her 

Actually, Lola didn’t need to ask anymore to know the answer because Jenna hadn’t said anything at all. Lola had only mentioned Jenna’s name in front of Scott, and she hadn’t expected such a reaction from him. So, Lola had already understood the situation. 

Lola pondered. Regardless of whether my parents and Ethan have been deceiving me, Scott definitely has. Strangely, I don’t feel sad at all right now, just shocked. I was shocked that Scott, who was so perfect and devoted, could one day be a cheater.
