“What did she mean by scolding me like that?” Alex stood in front of the hospital bed, looking down at Ellie and observing every change in her expression. 

“I didn’t hear clearly just now. Go ask her yourself.” Ellie sat on the edge of the bed, holding her son in her arms. Her heart was pounding. If she hadn’t stopped Lacey just now, who knows what shocking things Lacey would have said. 

Alex had no memory now. Letting him know anything about the past would be extremely exhausting for both him and her. 

“We knew each other before, right?” Alex’s tentative tone was obvious. 

“Shouldn’t Mr. Warren think about whether we knew each other or not?” Ellie retorted, exasperated.

“May I come in?” At this moment, Alex’s rumored celebrity girlfriend, Deborah, stood at the door holding flowers. Ellie put her son down and stood

“Thank you.” Ellie took the flowers and toys from Deborah. 

Deborah said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Thompson. What happened yesterday was because of me. I came here today to apologize to you and see how your child is doing.” 

“Ms. Gelhorn, you are not only a good actress, but also a kind person. No wonder Mr. Warren was still talking about you when he was drunk.” After Ellie finished speaking, she deliberately glanced at Alex. 

Alex touched his nose guiltily. Last night, he clearly came to make peace with Ellie. He thought, ‘Could it be that I really praised other women in front of Ellie when I was drunk?‘

“Mr. Warren, can you help me put it on?” Alex looked at Deborah’s outstretched hand and then at Ellie. 

“My head hurts. Quick, help me call the doctor.” Alex suddenly sat down on the edge of the bed, clutching his forehead and lying on the pillow. Deborah was frightened and hurried out to call for someone. 

“Stay off my bed.” Oscar pushed Alex away with one hand. Alex held Oscar’s small hand. 

“Mom, he’s getting my bed dirty.” Oscar complained to his mother in disgust. 

Alex suddenly got out of bed. “Little one, do you have OCD or something?”

Alex grabbed the corner of the quilt and wiped his face. “Well, don’t cover yourself with it then.” 

Ellie looked at the corner of the quilt that Alex had wiped his face with. “Mr. Warren, you should go see if your girlfriend is scared.” Ellie pushed Alex toward the door. 

At the door of the ward, Alex grabbed Ellie’s hand and forcefully put the ring on her finger. “I’m giving this ring to you. I don’t like that woman.” 

He said, “I was drunk last night. Everything I said was nonsense. Don’t take it to heart.” Ellie nodded. “Okay.” 

Alex said, “Don’t take a word of it seriously.” 

Ellie said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Warren, I won’t.” Seeing Ellie nod, Alex was finally relieved. 

Seeing Ellie taking off the ring, Alex quickly put it back on her finger. “You’re so quick to return it. What’s wrong with you?” After saying that, Alex turned and left, afraid that Ellie would return the ring to him. 

“Mr. Warren,” Barry said, catching up with his boss as he came out. 

“Why didn’t you stop me when I was like that last night?” Alex kicked Barry and strode toward the elevator. 

Barry looked wronged, but didn’t dare to make a sound. Last night, his CEO got drunk and insisted on coming here. He tried to stop him several times and got beaten up several times. 

As he opened the car door and got in, Alex suddenly said, “Find someone named Haley. I need all the information on her.”

Ellie watched them from afar, smiling and shaking her head. Seeing Lacey acting coquettishly in front of Mark, she probably had feelings for her senior after all. 

Around noon, 

Ellie was awakened by the ringing of her phone. Mark was calling, asking her to meet with the president of a pharmaceutical group. 

“Don’t worry, Mark, I’ll be there on time,” Ellie said. Although she was puzzled, she got out of bed and went to pick out clothes. 

Back at the hospital, Mark hung up the phone and asked his assistant to inform that they could meet at noon. The assistant hesitated, “Dr. Warren, didn’t you ask me to postpone the meeting? You said that you would have lunch with Mrs. Warren”
