Looking down at her, I smiled before I started playing with her hair. Laying my head back, I closed my eyes. I felt like I was dozing off when I felt the car come to a stop. Opening my eyes, I saw that we had arrived. Gently shaking Emily awake, she just stirred a little before she cuddled up more to me. Getting up, I rested her head on the seat before I opened the door and got out. Gently lifting her out of the car. James got out before he ran to open the front door. Going through it, I walked to her apartment door and did a poor act of knocking. A few moments later, Emily's mom came to the door and opened it.

Greeting me, I did the same before she directed me to her room. Opening her door skilfully, I made my way inside and gently laid her on the bed. Sitting on the edge of it, I watched her sleep before I got up and kissed her on her forehead. Hearing her let out a small moan, I smiled before I walked out. Stopping inside the living room, I spoke to Mrs. Martinez who was very excited to see me. We talked about her health and I told her about the nurse that was going to look after her. The strange thing was she didn't fuss about the nurse, she was just excited that Emily and I will be spending time together in Paris.

Looking at her, I saw that she was derailing. She looked worse than she did before and I could see that could barely stand. Giving me a look, she laughed and shook her head before she thanked me for everything that I was doing and that she was fine, and that she had accepted the fact that her cancer was growing. Kissing her on her forehead, I walked her to her room and tucked her in before I left. Locking the door from the inside, I exited the apartment building before I made my way back into the car. James was about to pull off when I noticed someone standing in the shadows smoking a cigarette. I couldn't see the face of the individual but I could definitely see the smoke. I couldn't help but get an eerie feeling, but I shrugged it off as nothing but I still couldn't shake the feeling.

"So, I assumed you had a great night," his voice came out teasingly.

"It was just a dinner meeting James, nothing more."

"I hear you, Adam. You just keep playing your cards right lover boy and you're sure to have her as your wife."

"Shut up and drive," I chuckled.

Waking up, I turn my alarm off as I stretch my limbs before getting up and walking lazily to the bathroom. Climbing into the tub, I turned on the shower before I stepped under the warm water. While taking a shower, I started remembering how Adam had lifted me last night and placed me on my bed. I wasn't asleep when he took me out of the car, I was just too tired and lazy to get up and when he brought me to my room and placed me on my bed that's when I fell into a deep slumber. It was a sweet thing for him to do and I couldn't help but blush at the thought.
