Mia's p.o.v
"Mia stop slacking off already, do you want me to punish you?" Margret our chief omega asked loudly.
"No, I'm sorry ma'am," I whispered then continued to scrub the floor of the pack house.
I didn't mean to slack off or act lazy, it's just that my mind was unsettled as I thought about the upcoming ceremony, I seriously didn't want to go anywhere and I hated the fact that every omega was required to dress up nicely and do her best to please the alphas.
"Add more pressure to your hands," she ordered me and walked out as I did.
Some of my main fears were to either be rejected by my mate or to receive my first heat without finding him, most omegas in our pack were rejected because of their mates fear of facing the alpha if he ended up choosing that same omega, and most omegas that went in heat before finding their mates were given to the high ups as means of reward and release.
Everything was messed up and horrible, the omegas ended up becoming pregnant mostly, if the guy who had impregnated them was kind enough, he allowed the omega to keep the pup, if he was heartless he talked to the alpha's who would decide to either kick them out of the pack or forcefully make the omega abort.
After the abortion or exile the omegas turned crazy and some traumatized, I didn't want it to happen to me so it really scared me.
"Work, work and work, don't think much even though you rarely eat or sleep," I murmured to myself Softly then tensed when I felt eyes staring at me.
I groaned in annoyance then continued to scrub the floor, for the past two years I had been feeling like I was being watched from afar by more than one person, at first it felt like it was one, then the feeling changed into two, I tried my best to inhale their scent but I couldn't pick up anything, their scent was either perfectly masked or I was going insane because of thinking a lot, every time I turned or looked around I saw no one.
I was finding it weird because I only had this kind of feeling when I wasn't around anyone, it was common for male betas, Delta's, and warriors to lust for beautiful omegas and spy on them, but I wasn't beautiful, at least that's how I saw myself.
I began to hum my favorite tune and continued to work, every omega knew her duty and what role they played, as for me it was my job to clean the pack house every Morning, the high ups bedrooms were off-limit to me, because an elderly omega who had already experience her heat was the only one allowed there. After cleaning the pack house, I was supposed to help out with the washing or the surrounding, after that if I got lucky I ate, but if I got unlucky I found nothing to eat.
"Aren't you excited!" Megan's voice startled me.
"Meg!" I yelled in anger.
"Oops, sorry, did I startle you?" She asked teasingly.
"Yes you did," I answered then turned when I felt the eyes that were on me revert.
"I'm sorry," She said again.
"It's fine, hey when you walked in here didn't you have a feeling that someone was watching you?" I asked.
She looked around then knelt beside me.
"I did," she whispered.
"Really?" I asked.
"Yes, and I know who it was," she answered.
I quickly stopped scrubbing and moved closer.
"Who?" I asked.
"My fear and conscious," She answered.
I angrily glared at her as she burst out in laughter.
