As the sky blushed with the colors of a sunset, Everett guided Selena through the VIP ward area. They bumped into Callum, who was in a white lab coat, busy giving instructions to a nurse.

Everett's face tightened with a frown.

Selena, however, was relieved. She'd been worried about Callum; after all, being locked up isn't exactly a walk in the park. Yet here he was, free and seemingly fine.

She looked him over carefully.

He seemed a bit pale, but otherwise, he looked okay. This put her mind at ease.

Callum noticed them as he glanced up, his gaze skipping over Everett to rest on Selena.

Their eyes locked.

In an instant, Everett stepped in front of Selena with a stern expression, blocking Callum's view. A smirk, cold and calculating, played on his lips. "Callum, guess I underestimated you."

Seeing Callum at the hospital, Everett realized this was his move in their ongoing game.

Josh's health was failing fast, and there was an unspoken rule not to bother him. Even Selena hadn’t exchanged words with Josh throughout.
