Chapter 285
Before he could respond, she coldly added, “I don’t know why you trust those bodyguards so much, but I don’t want this happening again.”
Having said that, Maggie expected him to argue, but instead, he simply looked at her and nodded, “Alright, I understand.”
Maggie paused, but didn’t say anything further.
At that moment, Franklin spoke again, “Isabella and I will head back now. You should get some rest.”
Maggie didn’t reply and turned to walk inside.
Two days later, Johnny traveled to City S to attend the International Artificial Intelligence Conference.
Similar to last year’s tech exhibition, this International AI Conference was another great opportunity to learn about AI developments and exchange technical
edge.
Joining him were Maggie, Glen, and several other new engineers who had just joined Cole.
The reason they were included was that these new hires hadn’t yet been exposed to the company’s core secrets, so there was no concern about potential leaks.
Upon arriving in City S and entering the conference, they found that many people were already there.
It was said that some major figures from the international AI field were also attending this grand event.
At the previous tech exhibition, Johnny had already attracted a lot of attention because of his identity as a student of Nolan.
Thanks to Cole’s growing influence, as soon as they entered the venue, they immediately drew the attention of nearly everyone present.
However, most people’s focus was on Johnny.
People were coming up to him to greet him
Johnny was kept busy.
one by one.
Maggie and Glen stood to the side, watching as Johnny socialized. Before they could speak, Maggie heard a familiar voice.
“Are you here too?”

Maggie turned around.
It was Harry.
Standing beside him was Liam.
Maggie nodded, “Mr. Becker, you’re here too?”
Normally, for such a networking event, Harry wouldn’t need to attend himself; he would send company executives and core technical personnel like Liam instead.
However, since it had been a while since he last saw Maggie, and knowing she would definitely attend this event, he decided to come as well.
While chatting with Maggie, Harry noticed Glen’s indifferent gaze.
He didn’t pay much attention to it. At this point, Franklin also arrived.
However, this time, he was without Julia.
Maggie and Johnny were still observing when the event organizers and their team ushered in a foreigner, probably in his sixties, into the conference hall.
Maggie and Johnny, who were familiar with influential figures in the domestic and international AI fields, immediately recognized him as K. W. Smith.
Previously, both Maggie and Johnny had wondered where Julia was, as she wasn’t with Franklin.
But upon seeing K. W. Smith, they understood why.
Because at that moment, she was standing right next to him.
It was clear that she was well–acquainted with K. W. Smith.
Thinking back to some of the information about K. W. Smith, and considering that Julia was doing her PhD in Country A, Maggie and Johnny immediately understood that K. W. Smith was likely her doctoral advisor.

The readers' comments on the novel: Mr. CEO Your Wife Has Wanted a Divorce for a Long Time
What does Helen mean Maggie is still married? Married to whom? Franklin has made it clear that he doesn't consider her anything and is flaunting his relationship with Julia for anyone who has eyes to witness it.So Maggie should wait for the divorce to be finalized to date. Isn't that double standards. And Franklin is dragging the divorce deliberately since divorced or not he does what he wants without any consequences. Really women are emotionally oppressed even authors only know that point of view 😕...
I feel sad for Maggie and all married women who have to endure emotional abuse with no end in sight. By the look of it,Franklin doesn't want to divorce Maggie for whatever reason. Either the reason is good or bad, Maggie shouldn't be humiliated like this just because she loves him. And the grandmother should be helping her get a divorce not emotionally blackmailing her, if she really cared about her. Franklin is using Maggie's love for the grandmother to abuse her. Is really loving people wrong? Author this one-sided hurt is not right. Let Maggie move on with dignity. It shouldn't end up with Franklin professing his love for her and her accepting it....
