Looking at the content on the paper, my dad’s face turned really pale.

Dad’s phone suddenly rang, reminding him that a message was coming in. He quickly checked, thinking it was from me.

However, it was a message from his secretary, telling him that all of their partners had canceled their collaborations. The companies they owed money to were now coming to demand payment.

“What in the world is going on now?!” Dad’s complexion turned even paler.

I knew what was going on. These were all my mom’s doing.

She had come back for me.

Lying on a stretcher in the helicopter, I watched my dad and Travis through my tablet as they moved about in the hospital.

Dad and Travis ran to my room, searching desperately for me, but the only thing they found was the bed that Travis had kicked out of place.

“Where’s my daughter? Where have you hidden her?” Dad grabbed the arms of Travis‘ assistant and asked desperately.

Travis also panicked. “Have you seen where she went? She was badly injured. How could she leave the hospital?”

She pulled away from my dad’s grasp and snapped, “You know she was badly hurt! So why did you wait so long to get her to undergo surgery?

“Do you know that not only can she never have children, but she can never live a normal life like you healthy people in the future? Are you even her family, treating her like this?

“You two are seriously worse than animals!”

Dad and Travis stood there, not a single word coming out of their mouth. Their faces were filled with guilt and shame.

The assistant sighed, helpless. “I don’t know where she went. Maybe she’s too disappointed in you both and left on her own…”

Dad shook his head vigorously. “How could that be? Grace loved being with us. She would have wanted nothing more than to spend every day with us. She wouldn’t leave on her own!”

Travis‘ face was full of worry. “Her injuries are so severe. She couldn’t have just walked off on her own like that. Something bad is bound to happen!”

I watched their performance coldly, feeling no emotional pull.

All I wanted was for them to pay for what they’d done.
