“Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Carter.” 

I was surprised to find that my parents knew Steve. 

“Steve is here, come in quickly, let’s have dinner right away,” my father patted my shoulder, gently detaching me from their embrace, and led Steve and me inside 

I was bewildered and asked my mother what was going on. My mother winked at me; her smile filled with meaning “You’ve been away for a few years, and you didn’t even let your mom and dad know when you started dating. Your taste is quite good though. This young man is great.” 

I was utterly confused. 

In a relationship? Me? When did this happen? 

Dragged into the house by my mother, I was shocked to discover that Steve was even more familiar with my home than I was. 

What was going on? I had only been away for a year, and my home had seemingly been taken over! 

While eating, I observed Steve closely. He got along really well with my father, and his flattering remarks flowed seamlessly, making my father blush with pride. I bet that if Steve were a few years older, 

father would have wanted to become his best friend. 

After dinner, I quickly dragged Steve out of the house. 

“What’s going on with you? When did you infiltrate my family?” 

Steve had just had a drink, and his eyes were slightly red at the moment. He lowered his gaze, fixating on me with intense focus, almost like an enchanting and captivating seducer. 

I admit that in the presence of such allure, I couldn’t maintain my composure. I could clearly hear my heartbeat speeding up, and I quickly turned my blushing face to the side. 

“Heh…” Steve let out a low, delighted laugh that echoed in my ears. He reached out and touched my earlobe. “Little bunny. 

“I won’t tease you anymore; I’m going home.” His figure disappeared under the streetlight, leaving my face still flushed. 

I let the wind cool my face for a while before casually returning home. As soon as I walked in, I saw my parents both sitting on the living room couch, both looking at me in unison. 

It was perfect timing because I wanted to know how Steve had met them. 

“Mom, what are you talking about?” I waved my hand dismissively. 

My mom, noticing that I had no other intentions regarding Nash, eased up. “Oh, speaking of which, it’s such a pity about Nash. He had such high talent, and if he had continued painting, his achievements. would have been extraordinary.” 

My dad interjected, “Alright, he’s running a small company now, and he seems to be doing well.” Nash had memories from a past life, and even if he had stopped painting, he should be doing fine. 

After returning to the country and resting for a few days, I started to get busy. Our company is in the e- commerce business, and many things are different in San Athens compared to abroad. I had to understand and implement each aspect one by one. Although I had done a lot of market research before, the competition in the domestic e–commerce industry was quite intense, and our company’s financial report for the first quarter wasn’t very promising 

I was feeling a bit down, so Steve took me out to dinner. I seemed listless, lacking interest in the delicious food I usually enjoyed. Steve switched my drink “What’s wrong?” I took a sip, and the sweet and refreshing taste of the juice perked me up. “It’s nothing, just a bit frustrated.” 

Steve could tell without even thinking that I was worried about the company. However, this was something he couldn’t help with. 

My career depended on me, and if I didn’t work hard, I’d never grow. 

Steve thought for a moment. “Wendy, let’s go out and have some fun, right now.“
