I looked at him in surprise, “Go out to play? Now?”
In my heart, I felt a faint attraction to this crazy idea.
“Yes!” Steve put on his coat and grabbed my hand, “Right now, anywhere, anything.”
I followed his steps closely, quickly leaving the restaurant. It didn’t feel quite real until the car was speeding on the highway. I picked up my phone and sent a message to my parents, then settled in to enjoy my journey.
Late at night, we stopped at a highway rest area, and as the dawn broke, we hit the road again. I asked Steve, “Where are we going?”
Steve glanced at the gas gauge, “I don’t know, when the tank is empty, we’ll get off the highway.” When Tank was almost empty, we exited at the nearest toll booth. It was a very small county town, but the scenery was beautiful. Steve and I made a brief stop in the town, then drove into the countryside.
Steve said he wanted to show me the most beautiful night sky in the world. The country roads were rough and uneven, and Steve mentioned he had never driven on such a road before, asking if I was afraid.
I smiled and said, “If you dare to drive, I dare to ride.” Perhaps it was because of my unconditional trust, but Steve seemed to be in a good mood, with a constant smile on his face.
We stopped by the side of the road at a grassy spot, and I looked up, instantly captivated by the sparkling stars in the deep sky. “So beautiful, I’ve never seen such a beautiful night sky in my entire life,” 1 whispered to myself.
Steve hugged me from behind, letting me lean against him, and his magnetic voice came from above me, “Since the stars are so beautiful, my dear, don’t be annoyed anymore?” My cheeks turned red, and I didn’t reply.
We cuddled together tightly, quietly gazing at the starry sky, feeling a long–lost sense of tranquility
within us.
In the blink of an eye, Steve was drenched by the heavy rain. He was almost laughing at the situation. It was strange that on this clear night with no clouds in sight, suddenly it started raining, and the car, which had been running perfectly fine, had its tire punctured.
wuble” Steves
“Wendy, I originally brought you out to relax, but it seems like we keep running into trouble,” helplessly. said
Strangely, in this somewhat comical and remote place, my mood had miraculously become calm. I took out a tissue and gently wiped the water from his hair, smiling as I said, “These unexpected events are just part of the fun when you go out to play, don’t you think? Besides, if you hadn’t brought me out to relax, you wouldn’t have encountered these issues.”
Outside, the rain was pouring, but the atmosphere inside the car was oddly comforting. Steve and I squeezed into the small space, and the level of intimacy continued
