"You want to...." I didn't finish as I realized the extent of his words. Tyler's pack was dying, my pack was dying. They were suffering because of me. My life could save all of theirs.

"So they're stronger than us." I state, recalling how this contradicted what we spoke about yesterday.

"We believe so." He says, for the first time, quietly.

"So how do I turn myself over?"

"This is your choice." Anna speaks up, then forcing her eyes downward as Tyler stares he down.

"She's right," he tells me, facing my way again. "We will fight for you, Jen. We can try to protect you if you want. But people are dying. People who have mates, and pups who will never see their dads' again."

I imagine what I'd go through if I never saw Jake again. I don't think I could survive. Not alone; knowing I'd never get to be wrapped in his arms again.

I nod my head. "Yes. I will do this... for the pack and Jake."

The tension in the room is high. I can see Anna is practically boiling, a few others too.

"And as Alpha of this pack I demand everything said in this meeting to never be spoken to anyone outside of those doors." He hesitates before adding "especially not Jake."

I wasn't surprised about that. I mean, Jake would go crazy. He would probably kidnap me and take me to China if he found out what we were planning.

I started to get up, not allowing myself to start crying in front of them.

"Thank you, Jennifer, your sacrifice will forever be remembered." Tyler tells me. Then he bows his head to me, showing respect. The rest of the table got up and kneeled, bowing their heads.

"Thank you for your sacrifice." They all mumbled, fueling my emotions. I nodded my head at them, before running out the door, allowing the waterworks to finally begin.

I paused outside of mine and Jake's door and attempted to wipe the tears off my face. Hopefully he wouldn't be able to see me in the dark anyways.

I opened the door and slipped into the room, making my way to the bathroom. I turned on the light after shutting the door and flinched.

I had always been an ugly cryer.

My face was blotchy, just from the crying I'd done on my way up here. My eyes looked sad. They still drooped from the sleep I was woken from, which didn't help my appearance one bit.
