We looked over at mom and saw the tears on her face. "How could we do that to Star."

"We didn't even get her gifts, or go watch her let alone give her a party."

"She really must hate us."

"Panther, I think the girls really meant what they said."

Ace, said. "They broke up with us."

"Where do you think they will take Star?"

"I don't know Ace."

Everyone in the club no longer felt like celebrating. The kids that graduated felt bad. They did not realize that Star was alone, and had no party.

We all heard Grace. "Now you all know why Star hates us."

"And you Gunner, she really hates you."

"Not once have you gone over there to get to know Star."

"Who, by the way will be your step daughter."

"But she won't claim you."

"After all, she doesn't even know her mother is getting married."

I laughed and looked at my brother. My mom and dad looked at Gunner in anger. They did not even know that Brandy had a daughter.

"She didn't know that her mother was getting married tomorrow."

"Now isn't that something?"

"It is as if Star doesn't exist."

"She hates your guts Gunner."

"I need to go and talk to Star."

I walked over to the house and up the stairs. I opened Stars door and was shocked. I saw her room stripped and boxes stacked along the wall. Star was going to leave and not tell any of us. But, I can't blame her.

We just started going across the street and not bringing her with us. I sat down on the bed and cried. My daughter hates me now. I never even told her I had started dating Gunner and was going to marry him.
