Xenia shrank back a little. "I went to school to see Noelle today. I even got on my knees and apologized, explaining that Blake had nothing to do with anything. But Blake didn't seem satisfied—he called me back to the hospital. Frank, I'm scared!"

Frank knew all too well how bad Blake's temper was. Lately, he had been taking it out on Xenia almost every day.

Xenia flinched at the sight of him.

Blake grabbed her by the arm. "If you hadn't recorded that damn video and fed me lies about Noelle planning to expose my dirt, I wouldn't have hit her. And I wouldn't have ended up like this!"

Xenia immediately looked at Frank, silently begging for help.

Frank hesitated, then asked, "So, she really showed you a video?"

"Yeah. That bitch deleted it afterward, but I'm not lying. There's no way I would've gone after Noelle for no reason."

Frank turned to Xenia, his voice serious. "Is it true?"

Xenia stammered, struggling to come up with a response. "I-I didn't—"

Frank's expression darkened. "You're lying."

He still remembered what had happened at the bar—the surveillance footage incident was proof enough. Even when caught red-handed, Xenia had lied without blinking.
