Noelle hadn't expected to run into Emma, Salena, and Laura right at the entrance of the elevator. Sure enough, dining at the same place made unexpected encounters like this all too easy.

For a moment, everyone froze, and they all had complicated looks in their eyes. Laura looked slightly surprised as she hadn't expected them to run into each other so quickly.

If it had just been her and Emma, it wouldn't have been a big deal since they both knew who Noelle was. But Salena was different. This was bad.

Salena was visibly shocked. Her gaze landed on Noelle and Cedric holding hands, and she immediately realized the two had an unusual relationship.

She recalled the previous failed engagement between the Greene and Merlock families. Rumors had it that Cedric had feelings for another lady but was extremely protective of her, so no one knew who she was.

She'd been curious but never dared investigate for fear of offending Cedric, and she'd never expected it to be Noelle, the daughter of the Liddells!

Salena looked toward Cedric. It was no wonder Alfred had called her about the foundation; it had to be Cedric's doing.

She couldn't help but speak, "Ced—"

Before she could finish, Emma abruptly cut her off. "Didn't we say we were going for a spa treatment? Aren't we gonna be late? We should leave now."

She panickedly walked toward the elevator. Seeing as she was approaching, Noelle instinctively pulled Cedric out of the way to make space for them.

Cedric's expression was unreadable as he silently observed Emma and couldn't figure out what she was thinking. At first, he'd assumed she'd make things difficult for Noelle, yet she surprisingly treated the latter with kindness.

In truth, Cedric had decided to tell Noelle the truth about his identity, but Emma said nothing. Emma was so overwhelmed with emotions that she didn't spare a glance at Cedric or Noelle. On the other hand, Salena was confused but held her tongue.

Laura felt equally uneasy. She didn't want Noelle to learn about Cedric's identity just yet.

Despite their complicated emotions, none of the three women spoke.

As the elevator doors closed behind them and shut off their voices, Emma breathed a sigh of relief. Once they stepped out, she turned to Salena and said, "I hope you can keep what just happened a secret."

Salena eyed Laura and said, "That lady is nowhere near as good as Laura."
