I stepped aside and said, "I'm not getting married anymore."

"What?" Nora stared at me, dumbfounded. "Are you kidding me, Dr. Ranford?"

I shook my head. "She cheated on me, so we broke up. It's that simple."

Kourtney parted her lips slightly, looking at me in surprise.

"I'm sorry to hear that, Dr. Ranford." Nora shrunk slightly and continued, "I have something else to do, so I'll head out for now."

However, as soon as she stepped out, Casey walked in.

"Jace!" She was still in her wedding dress as she rushed over with her hem lifted. Her hair was disheveled from all the running, and sweat beaded on her forehead.

"Today's our wedding day. You can't do this to me!" Casey said, sounding aggrieved as tears filled her eyes.

I scoffed. "How could you even say that, Casey? Shouldn't you know best how you've been treating me?"

Casey bit on her lip and replied, "It's because you never stayed with me. You were always at the hospital, and that's why I—"

I said, "Stop with your excuses, Casey. Don't you love Andrew? I'm giving the both of you a chance now. Now that we're no longer together, you should go marry someone you truly love."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Kourtney huddled under the blanket, trying to stay out of sight.

My heart softened. "We're at a hospital, so don't cause a scene. You should just leave."

Casey's eyes widened when she noticed Kourtney. "It's her! Is it because of her that you're not marrying me?"

"You… You've misunderstood. I'm merely Dr. Ranford's patient," Kourtney mustered her courage and said.

But before she could finish her sentence, Casey rushed over, about to hit her. I hurriedly stopped her, my gaze turning cold. "Are you done causing a scene here? This is a hospital!"

"She—"

"Leave!" I had never looked at Casey like that before. She froze for a moment before releasing her grip and left in dismay.

I turned around, looked at Kourtney, and sighed. "I'm sorry to have disturbed you."
