"Believe what you want, Nick, but Owen and I really are just friends."

"Is that why you were at the movies with him the other night?" Nick counters. "And at his house at least twice a week?"

"What she does and who she does is none of your business." Jess tells him.

"I'm not doing anyone, Jess." I tell her.

"Still, if you were it's none of his business or his stupid friend's. If she wants to screw Owen's brains out she can."

"I'm not screwing anyone's brains out." I say.

"Yeah, she can," Nick agrees. "but she doesn't need to act all innocent about it and play my boy."

"I'm not playing anyone!" I protest but neither of them pay any attention to me.

"The only one playing games is him!" She shouts back. "She finds someone else and now he wants to claim he likes her? He's had over a year to tell her he likes her I think it's just because she's found someone else and he doesn't want to be replaced."

"I haven't found anyone else."

"Maybe he didn't say anything because he didn't want to scare her. Maybe he knows she

goes around hooking up with every guy so she doesn't get hurt and if he tells her how he feels she won't speak to him again."

Whoa, okay suddenly I feel like this isn't about me! I can count all the guys I've slept with on one hand so I don't even respond to that one.

"She does not go around hooking up with people." Jess pushes him hard against his chest but she's so small and he's so big he doesn't even budge. "If he liked her he should've told her and she never would've gone out with Owen! She's been in love with him for over a year and he was just too stupid to even notice!"

"Jess!" I yell out. I can't believe she just said that.

She immediately realizes what she said and winces and looks at me apologetically. "Get out! Just get out!" She yells at him.

"Fine. I'm gone." He stomps out the door and slams it behind him.

She's breathing so hard she looks like she's going to faint. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to tell him that." Before I knew it my best friend suddenly burst into tears, I've never seen her cry. I didn't even know Jess could cry, she's always so tough and uncaring but seeing her cry scared me. I felt so bad for her.

I wrap my arms around her and hold her. "It's okay, I don't think he believed you anyway."

She held onto me and cried into my shoulder. I patted her back, not really sure what to say. When she was done crying she pulls away and wipes her eyes. "Better?" I ask.

"Yeah, I just hate him so bad."

I shook my head and smiled at her. "No, you don't."

"No, I don't." She agrees.

"It's okay to like someone."

"No, it's really not. Feelings suck, I don't get feelings."

"If it makes you feel better he's hurting too, I've never seen Nick mad, like ever."

"I know, me either, he usually just shuts up and agrees with me." She shrugged. "I don't even know how it got started. We were just sitting on the couch. See, that's why I don't hang out with guys I'm hooking up with, this is what happens. I should've just made him leave."

"Nick hates me doesn't he? They all do." It hurt me that Nick hated me too. Out of all Ian's friends Nick was my favorite so it broke my heart he thought so little of me now. I really

"I gotta go, Kamdyn."

"Ian, wait, I just.....I....."

"You been having fun with your new boyfriend?" He asks.

"Ian, I swear it's not like that."

"Oh yeah? Then what's it like?"

Growing tired of his attitude I ask. "Why do you even care? I wasn't anything but a hook up to you anyway."

"You're right, I don't care."

"Can you tell Nick that then so he will stop being a dick to Jess? She really likes him and she doesn't deserve to be treated like that."

"We both know Jess isn't capable of feelings which is why you two are such good friends right?"

"Excuse me?"

"Have fun banging your new boyfriend, don't call me again, I told you to lose my number."

"Don't worry I won't you-" Click. He hung up on me! I growled before throwing my

phone on the bed. Worse idea ever! Why did I even call that egotistical prick!
