Someone passed me on the track, they were wearing black pants and a black hoodie, at least now I'm not the only one running this morning. I kept running as I watched the figure in front of me, there was something so familiar about him. I can tell it's a guy by the shape of his body. I've been running over a half hour and am starting to get tired so I stop running and bend over, grabbing my knees trying to catch my breath. The tears were back and there wasn't anything I could do to stop them. I've ruined everything and the one person I've ever really loved never wants to see me again. A whimper escapes my throat as memories of Ian and I flash into my head.

"Hey, are you okay?" I feel a hand on my back and I stiffen, I'd recognize that voice

anywhere.

I quickly wipe away the tears, careful to keep my head down so he doesn't see my face. "Yeah, I think I just over done it a little." I say quietly.

The figure behind me removes his hand. "Kamdyn?"

I straighten and turn to look at Ian. "Hey." I say avoiding his gaze.

He starts to run off. "Ian, wait."

He stops, his back turned toward me. "What do you want, Kamdyn?"

"To apologize. I'm really sorry."

"For what? Hooking up with Jacobs behind my back, lying to me about it, yelling at me in front of everyone, or telling everyone I'm lousy in bed?" His entire body is stiff, and his back is still turned toward me. He won't even look at me. "Which part are you sorry for, Kamdyn?"

"I didn't lie to you about Owen and I wasn't seeing him behind your back-" He groans and looks up at the sky. "I didn't! I swear I didn't, Ian, but I am sorry about yelling at you and telling everyone you're lousy in bed. I really am. I had way too much to drink and I know that's not an excuse, but I guess I just lost it. It hurt seeing you with someone else. You know?"

"I do know something about that." He says quietly. "Don't worry about it, Kamdyn, I'm happy for you and Jacobs, you two are perfect for each other."

There was so much I wanted to say to him but now that he's here in front of me I can't think of a single thing. The only thing I wanted to say is that I love him, but that just isn't an option and I doubt he would want to hear it anyway. "I really am sorry, Ian."

"Forget it. He will cheat on you too you know. Just like he did his last girlfriend but I guess that's the kind of guy you go for right? He can lie to you and make up every excuse he wants but the truth is he cheated on her, multiple times. I may have been a player but at least I was honest about it, he's a liar and one day you're going to find that out."

"He said it was only the one time and it was because he was upset and she had switched campuses without telling him." I say over the lump in my throat.

He lets out an angry laugh, looks up at the sky. "And of course you believe him." He looks at me. "Karen left because girls were constantly throwing themselves at him and he couldn't keep it in his pants. He likes to play Mr. Perfect but it's all a front. I tried to warn her too but she didn't listen, eventually she figured him out, just like you're going to."

"What do you mean you tried to warn her? He said you hooked up with her and never talked to her again."

"Yes, we hooked up once, before they got together, but I let her know up front it was a one-time thing. Then when I found out she was into him I tried to tell her how he was but she didn't listen. Guess she found out the hard way. Goodbye, Kamdyn." He takes off in a jog and I decide to go home. That 'goodbye' sounded so final it ripped my heart out. I get the feeling that is the last time we will ever talk and it broke my heart. Maybe Owen isn't as nice as he lets on, Ian is a lot of things but he's no liar. Karen left because he was constantly cheating on her. What a prick.
