The girls are going to a frat party so I come along too. I didn't have to be talked into it like I normally do, for once I actually wanted to go have fun instead of just sitting around thinking about how all the guys hate me. It had been a week since I called Ian and it was time I just forgot about it. Jess is right, if they really think so little of me then they obviously aren't my real friends.
I'm wearing a pair of short jean shorts and a black tube top that exposes my belly button, despite Jess begging me to wear a skin tight red dress she had picked out for me, she ended up wearing the dress. It's pretty cold outside so I chose to grab my jacket, no sense in freezing I'll just leave it in the car when we get there.
When we get to the frat party it is already so full of people there is barely room to walk around. "Let's do this." Jess says putting her arm around my waist.
I almost didn't come to the party because it's Mason's frat party, but it doesn't matter, I see him around campus sometimes anyway, so I wasn't going to miss out just because I'll run into him here. I was there maybe five minutes before Mason spotted me. He gives me a huge grin and walks toward me. "Hey, Kamdyn, I didn't expect to see you here."
"Hey, Mason."
"How have you been?" He yells over the loud music.
"Great. I've been great. You?"
"Can't complain." He takes a long drink from his cup. "I'll see you around. You girls enjoy." He says before walking off.
"You okay?" Jess asks.
I release the breath I didn't even realize I'd been holding. That was the first time I've talked to Mason since he dumped me and it didn't bother me nearly as bad as I thought it would. I'm completely over him now. "Yeah. That wasn't bad." I give her a grin and she smiles back.
"Good. Let's have some fun."
We danced and sang and had an amazing time. I'm so glad I came, I really needed this. No more tears over Ian. He's not lying around crying over me. He's probably with another girl right now. No, no more thinking of Ian, tonight is about me and having fun.
Jess hands me a cup and I chug it before getting another cup. Jess and I start dancing, it's so crowded people are bumping into us so we decide to move through the crowd to get somewhere less crowded. Jess has my hand leading me through the sea of people when she stops walking, I almost bump into her. "What?" I ask.
