Before we opened I gave them the run down on how things work, and the ways we operate, and when customers start rolling in it proved to me that I had chosen great additions to our team. With them doing so great it made me less nervous about me spending less time here and more time at The Red Café, which I would start at in just a few days.

As the day finally calmed down I was able to go back in my office and finish some work. Ryan had already paid me even though I hadn't even started yet, he thought it would be a good idea if I spent some of the money on upgrading the restaurant. Considering our equipment was so out of date I thought it would be a really great idea as well.

All the work would be done by Ryan's contractors that were also part of the pack. On this coming Saturday when we are closed they are going to paint and redo the flooring to a more modern tile and paint color. The next day new tables and booths would be delivered and installed, followed by the bathroom being completely begin redone. One by one things would be upgraded and more modern.

Before I could get any more work done Liz coming strolling in. "I'm working," I told her hoping that she would leave.

"I can see that." She sat down on my desk.

"What can I help you with Liz?"

"Well as you know my birthday was yesterday..." She trailed off.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

"I've been so busy and-." She cut me off.

"It's okay I knew you would forget so last night I came over and you wasn't and surprisingly you weren't there."

Shit. Shit. Double Shit.

I thanked God for the fact that Ryan had already had the broken door and windows repaired. If he hadn't I had no idea of how I would explain that to Liz. "Oh." I started calmly. "I must have been here working."

"No." She shook her head. "It's was like eleven o'clock, the restaurant closes at nine."

"Well after I left me and Ryan had dinner with his parents. It got so late that I ended up falling asleep over there." I sort of lied.

"What?" She said shocked.

"It's not a big deal, it was one night," I said in a nonchalant manner.

"Right." She said in a sarcastic tone. "Because one night doesn't then turns into two night."

"We didn't even sleep in the same bed." I lied.

"Right." She rolled her eyes.

Annoyed I folded my arms. "Even if I did, I'm an adult."

"I never said you weren't. One thing I do know is that adults don't lie about who they're sleeping with." She said matter-of-factly.

"Why are you always asking questions about my love life?" I resorted.

"I'm not." She said getting defensive.

"Let's talk about you. Are you dating anyone?"

"What? No!" She dramatically shook her head.

"Right, because adults don't lie about who they're sleeping with." I mocked.

"Fine, I am seeing someone." She admitted,

"Who is it?"

"Everybody did a great job tonight, we made twice as much as we usually do."

We were attracting a lot of new young customers who were more interested in checking out Evan and Jacob then eating, but still they brought food and as long as they did I was okay with that.

"Fortunately for you guys you get the next three days off. During that time, there will be some remodeling." I continued. "But after that, I expect the same amount of good work as was done today. Everyone dismissed."

Everyone gathered their things before leaving. Lily and I drove back together.

"Everything went well today." She stated.

"It did." She nodded.

"Can I ask you something?"

I turned to look at her before turning back to the road. "Yes, what's up?"

"How come Melissa doesn't like me." She blurted out.

"What? What makes you say that?" I laughed nervously.

"Alex?" She said in a serious tone.

"Fine. She said something about your group of friends isolating yourselves, not really talking to any of the humans in school."

"Wolves like to be with their own. What am I supposed to talk to a human about?"

"Hello, human over here." I pointed to myself.
