"Nice to meet you." She forced a smile. She seemed less excited to meet me out of all the girls. I, of course, knew that it was because both of our packs were enemies.
"Nice to meet you too." I told her with an equally fake smile.
After that fake smile that she had given me she quickly took her seat at the table. From her demeanor, it seems as if her mate had also given her strict instructions to keep her distance from me. And I was absolutely okay with that. Soon after Judi sent me a sad smile before she retreated back to her seat that was right next to Hailee.
"Okay, why don't we all take a seat. Lunch is about to be served." Natalie announced and I immediately went to take my seat that was right next to Ellie.
"You okay." Ellie asked.
Me being Luna of The Red Bloods pack I need to show them that I wasn't affected by the petty bullshit. Yes, it was okay to slack off on my Luna duties at home but I was in front of other Luna's I needed to show them that I was just as mentally strong as them even though I was human. I smiled confidently. "Yes, I'm perfectly fine."
Eventually, lunch was served and as we ate we all went around telling each other about ourselves. All and all the lunch was very enjoyable. Once we were all done eating we were ushered into the living room to get further acquainted with one another.
I talked to Ellie for a few minutes until she said that she wasn't feeling well and decided that she would go upstairs to lie down for a while. I ended up talking to April and Nicole for most of the time. I liked April a lot despite how a lot of the time when she spoke it was before thinking. Nicole too, she was very sarcastic but none of the less she was hilarious.
I was also very drawn to Judi. She was human and that somehow just made it where we just got each other. "You only in High School, are you serious?" I asked with surprise.
"Yes." She giggled. "It was a huge transition from my regular human life but I love it." She said before looking lovingly down at her son.
"What do your parents think? Do they know?"
"About Mark being a wolf? No. They're very traditional and don't believe in sex or having a child out of wedlock. They aren't really speaking to me at this moment."
"I'm sorry to hear that," I told her apologetically.
She forced a smile. "It's fine." She brushed it off. "I have my own little family now." She kissed her son's cheek.
I gasped, suddenly feeling pain in my abdomen. "Alex, are you okay?" Judi asked placing her hand on my shoulder. Right away all the girls turned our way.
"Is everything okay?" Kira walked to us.
"No, there's something wrong with her," Judi answered for me.
"I'll go get Ellie," April told us before running out of the living room.
The pain started to go away, and from the distance, I could hear Ellie and Hailee throwing insults at one another. Ignoring them I turned to the others. "I want to go see my mate."
"Not yet. Things are cooling off now and the meeting should be ending soon." Kira told me.
"I don't care I want to see my mate." I pushed them away from me and tried to get up only to be pushed back down.
"You must not interrupt them, this meeting is important for the sake of all of our packs," Kira explained while the others just looked at my apologetically.
"I don't care," I yelled at her.
"Alex please," Elizabeth begged.
"I just want to make sure that he's okay." I attempted to reason with them.
"Give us a few minutes and I promise you that you will be able to see your mate," Elizabeth told me and for some reason, I felt that I could trust her.
