Hearing his shout behind her, Sana only ran faster, heart pounding wildly. Inwardly, she couldn’t help but grumble, Seriously, what kind of pathetic love triangle is this?‘

After finally shaking off Sana’s blind date, Wesley tried to contact her, only to realize he’d been blocked,

A low, bitter laugh slipped from his lips. Wesley almost found it funny–he’d actually managed to piss himself off this much, all for someone who clearly saw him as meddling in her business.

But from just a few words, he could already tell that Sana’s blind date was arrogant, controlling, and far from sincere. With anyone else, Wesley would have given a single warning and, if ignored, wouldn’t have meddled further.

But this concerned Sana.

After forcing himself to calm down, Wesley switched to a different number and sent her a message. [If you must go on blind dates, at least pick someone decent. That guy tonight seemed a bit unstable. He’s not right for you.]

At home, Sana stared at the new message on her phone and bit her lip, thinking, ‘Setting everything else aside, Wesley really is a good guy. That’s why I chased after him all those years without regret.‘

But exactly because of that, she couldn’t keep dragging him down. She murmured, “Wesley, you deserve better.”

“Sana, what are you muttering about? Come have some watermelon. So, how was your blind date today?” Celeste asked.

Sana plopped down on the sofa as told and sighed, “Terrible, Mom. He was a total dud. Where do you even find these guys?” So far, none of her blind dates was worth a second glance.

Celeste snapped, “My friends introduced them. You mean to tell me, out of all those men, you didn’t like a single one?”

Sana leaned back against the sofa, her arms behind her head, and lazily drawled, “Nope. Not one.”

“Fine, then I won’t set you up anymore. You can find someone yourself. Didn’t you say there was a hot guy at your company who’s into you?” Celeste asked.

At that, Sana bolted upright. “No. Don’t even mention him. Mom, please keep setting me up. I promise I’ll be more serious this time. If I go on enough dates, I’m bound to find someone suitable.”

‘There’s no way it could ever work with Wesley anyway, she thought bitterly.

Celeste gave her a long, suspicious look, sensing something was off. But since Sana clearly didn’t want to explain more, she didn’t push and finally relented. “Alright then. As long as you won’t regret it.”

Sana lowered her gaze. “Not a chance.”

Hearing this, Celeste exchanged a glance with Lionel. In that brief look, they saw the same quiet worry mirrored in each other’s eyes.

After returning home, Wesley fired off several more texts to Sana, but they all went unanswered. When another patient came in for a consultation, he had no choice but to put the matter aside for now.

Before going to bed, Sana instinctively checked her phone. Seeing no new messages, she couldn’t help but press her lips together. She wondered, ‘Did he give up this easily?‘

“Why do you look so out of it? Did you fight with Dr. Finch?” Jessica asked, noticing Sana zoning out right after the finished reporting her work.
