I look at her fondly, she was laughing at whatever Jordan is saying and the room lights up with her smile. Even as she's smiling, I could see that she was tired and she needed rest. Whatever happened today with that spider stressed her out and I know that it has something to do with that motherfucker and his fucked up pack.

I cleared my throat and they both looked at me. I ignored Jordan and faced Kenzie.

''Kitten, you need to rest'' I told her in what she calls my 'no argument' tone.

She was about to protest when I gave her a pointed look.

''Don't argue, Ken. You need to rest even if its just for a few hours'' I really want her to rest.

She nodded her head while looking glum. I ignored the look on her face and led her into the bedroom.

I turned, remembering that Jordan was still here. I still haven't asked him what he was doing in my house. He went to visit his best friend, Blake in his new pack. Blake found his mate there and he decided to move there instead. The two of them were inseparable, so when Blake made that decision to leave this pack, they quarreled about it for long. I remember Jordan was so sad throughout those period till I advised him to go see his friend.

''You have your own apartment so use it'' I told him with a pointed look on my face. I've always loved my space and besides I have a mate now.

I was about to go in to meet Kenzie when I paused.

''Did it go well? Your meeting with Blake,I mean?''

He nodded his head with a smile.

''Yeah, thanks for the advice. We are cool now and I had so much fun in his pack'' He said while smiling at the memory.

I gave him a pat on his back, I'm glad he's happy. I've always made sure I put their needs before mine and the pack. Family comes first.

''Tell me about it later, I need to take care of Kenzie'' I told him already moving towards the bedroom.

Jordan's voice made me pause though.

''I'm glad that you found her. Jasmine told me that you've changed. So I ,uh, I decided to come see for myself I like this new you. It makes me glad that you are happy too'' He said while looking everywhere besides me.

It makes him glad that I'm happy too.

I must have been staring at him for long because he was embarrassed and was scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

''Thanks'' I cleared my throat when the word came out gravelly.

Andrew cleared his throat and I looked at him. He was looking at me weirdly and that was when I realized that I was still smiling. I quickly wiped the smile off my face and cleared my throat.

''So,uh, where are we?'' I asked him while looking at the paperwork's that was scattered in front of us and the rejected ones were scrunched up on the floor. I'll have to remember to pack this up when we are done. Kenzie does not like me littering the office.

''Alpha Steven is requesting for another land. He said he is willing to pay the full amount this time'' Andrew said while looking at the book.

Another land? That boy clearly does not know how to be an Alpha and his pack's elders are not helping him at all. I won't say that it's his fault because it's not. His father, the former Alpha was killed in a rouge attack and Steven was made Alpha at the age of sixteen. Which is his current age. He asked me for a piece of land when he newly became Alpha and I gave him the land for half the price. That was my way of sympathizing with him. And now he's back again for another. What happened the land that I gave him earlier?

''Tell him that I can't to that. I gave him one before does not mean I'll do it again. I worked for all my lands and I'm not about to sell them. My pack needs them too'' I said to Andrew and he was taking note of what I was saying so he won't forget when he's reporting back to Steven.

''Alpha Daniel is inviting you to his birthday party. Its next week''

I don't like meeting people.

''Leave that one pending. Let's see how things are by next week'' I said. To be honest, I'm not one for social gatherings. I was before but not anymore so I don't want to go. He has been inviting me every year but I usually send him gifts and that's all.
